San Juan Hospital—
Circle 1 of the Woman’s As
sociation of First Presbyterian
church met at the home of
Mrs. J. P. Brown last Thurs
day afternoon. Mrs. Brown led
the devotions and Mrs. Frank
Mahaffey presented the lesson.
The hostess was assisted by
Mrs. Sam Robertson.
Mrs. K. C- Hunt and Mrs.
Earl Hunt were hostesses to
Circle II meeting in the church
basement the same afternoon.
Mrs. L. A. Burgess gave the
devotions and Mrs. Roy Sau
ers the lesson. • ..
Following thje meetings,
members of the two circles
progressed to their new circles
under the , leadership of their
1950 chairmen. Mrs. Arlo Haitt
is chairman of Circle I and
Mrs. C. E. Yantzi is chairman
of Circle II.
Circle III met with Mrs.
Warry Peterson in the evening.
Mrs. Vernon Tietsort presented
the devotions and Mrs. Katye
Peterson the lesson. Those as
sisting the hostess were Mrs.
Earl Ralya and Mrs. Tietsort.
As the lesson this month
was on Puerto Rico, interest
ing slides on the Presbyterian
hospital at San Juan were
shown at all three of the meet
ings.

The Holt county soil conser
vation staff and their families
held a Christmas party at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Archie L.
McMaster. They had a coopera
tive dinner with turkey on the
menu. Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Crook, Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Young, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Hill
and their families attended. Ed
Sutton, of Kansas, was also a
guest.

Homer Mullen were guests-of
honor at a party to celebrate
their birthday anniversaries
Sunday. Mrs. P. W. McGinnis,
of Emmet, was the hostess. Mrs.
Mullen also attended.

entertained their husbands to
their- annual Christmas dinner
Saturday evening, December
17, at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Alfred Drayton, There
was a gift exchange and the
mystery sisters were revealed.

Miss Marine Golden expects
to arrive Saturday from St.
Catherine’s hospital in Omaha
to spend .three days with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. J.
Golden, and family. Miss Gol
den is a student nurse.

ler, of Providence, R. I. Mrs.
