Mr. and Mrs. George Ham mond and two sons of St. Louis, Mo., are spending Christ mas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Ryan, in Sioux City. They will visit his parents, Mr and Mrs. H. J. Hammond, after Christmas. Mr and Mrs. William Bowker and children, of MlcCook, and a daughter of the Hammonds, are expected for Christmas. Dr. and Mrs. L. R. Sutcliffe, of Rapid City, S. D., are here to visit her mother, Mrs- John Carr, and other relatives for the Christmas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Schultz, of Livermore, la., who were on their way to California to spend Christmas with relatives, stop ped in to visit Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Chambers, jr., last Thursday and Friday. Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Neil F. Clarke visited his mother, Mrs. Mary Clarke, in Royal. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rohrer, of Colorado Springs, Colo., ar rived last week to spend an indefinite time with their son in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Clyde. Robert Pappenheimer left last Thursday for New York City. His sister, Mia. Phillip Cohn, returned Wednesday, December 14, from there. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Pinker man and family and “Grand ma” Cooper were supper guests Friday at the Lloyd Collins’ home, Mrs. Cooper stayed overnight and went to Butte Saturday. Arriving Tuesday from Chi cago, 111., to visit their parents, the H. E. Coynes, were their daughters, the Misses Mary Kathryn and Nadene. Miss Na dene attends Illinois medical college in Chicago. Another daughter. Miss Veronica, who teaches in Broken Bow. is ex pected to arrive Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Await Spang ler and “Grandma” Bowden left Saturday by train for Cal ifornia. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Benson spent the weekend in Rapid City. S. D. Mr. and Mrs Francis Bazel man were in Sioux City Fri day. Joseph Bellai and Lloyd Collins left Friday for a few days in North Dakota. Mrs. Kenneth Ferree and two daughters left Sunday for Omaha where they met Mr. | Ferree, of Alexandria, Va. They expect to remain until January. Mrs. Ferree and daughters have b^en visiting her father, Dr. H. L. Bennett and his daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dean entertained her parents, Mr, and Mrs. F. Pearson, of Lin coln, Sunday. METHODIST (Ewing) The Methodist church Sun day-school will present its an nual program at the church on Friday evening, December 23. Brownies, Girl Bcouts In Yule Party— The Saturday food sale spon sored by the Girl Scouts was a big success. The girl Scouts and the Brownies enjoyed their joint Christmas party. They may make it an annual affair. The program started with the Brownies singing “Jingle Bel's”. Theg the Girl Scouts joined. They all sang “White Christmas”. Mrs. M. E.Jacob son gave a reading, “The Lit tlest Angel”, and Mrs. Grant Peacock, of Emmet, sang “The Night before Christmas”, ac companied by A. E. Bowen. Mrs. Harold Lindberg and Mr. Bowen played a piano duet, which contained all the tunes of Christmas. The Brownies and the Girl Scouts sang a number of Christ mas carols while Mrs. Lind berg played on the piano. Most of the children in this community visited Santa Claus in one of the neighboring towns Iowan Visit— Mrs. Pearl Jacobson, of Drake university at Des Moines, la., urrived Tuesday to spend two days with her son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Jacobson and family. The Jacobsons ex pect to spend the holidays in Vermillion, S. D., with rela tives. Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Gerdes and family will visit their par ents in Gothenberg and Graf ton for the holidays.
