Platt. Mrs. Platt accompanied her home and remained until Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Elwyn Robertson, of Chambers, attended the state home demonstration council meeting at Hastings the first of the week as a delegate from Holt county. Steve Shavlik and son, Myron, drove to Clearwater Sunday and brought Mrs. Shavlik and baby daughter home. Mrs. Shavlik left t.ie hospital at Norfolk Fri day and spent Saturday with her sister, Mrs. Switzer, at Clear water. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Adams were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Cook and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Duane McKay and daughter moved Tuesday into the basement apartment at the Louis Harley home. Duane will continue working at the service station East of town for awhile. They re turned Monday. AMELIA NEWS The Adair family has a new car. Mrs. Julia White returned Wednesday, October 6, from a visit with relatives at York and Lincoln. Mrs. Louis Lawson, of Al bion, has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Fannie Riley, the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Rog er Lawson, of Albion, Roy Lawson, from California, and Mrs. Miller drove to the Riley ranch Friday and Mrs. Law son returned home with them. Cleve Sigman visited his father, Charlie Sigman, this week. Cleve has been work ing near Marrell. His sister, Mrs. Audrey Carpenter, and family, of Burwell, came Sun day to visit them. Mr. and Mrs. Lou Backous accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Backous and Caroline attended a birthday anniver sary dinner Sunday at the George Thompson home in Chambers in honor of their sister, Mrs. Ed Buschard, of O’Neill, and Judy Thompson. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Forbes entertained Mr. and Mrs. Carl Smith and Hally, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Pacha and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm Margan and family, all of Atkinson, a t Sunday dinner. Chas Sigman and Cleve were dinner guests Sunday at C. F. Small’s. Mrs. Vern Sageser and Mrs Link Sageser attended a club meeting at Hastings the first part of the week. The WSCS met at the Am elia Methodist church to ob serve “quiet day.” An inspira tional program was arranged by Mrs. Clyde Widman. Elev en women were present. Mem bers will hold a bazaar at the Jungman hall on November 16, Lunch will be served at noon and in the evening until 7 o’clock.
