Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Moses are the baby s paternal grandparents. Bowen, of O’Neill. ALLISON—Capt. and Mrs. Jo seph Allison, who are known at Atkinson, a son, weighing 8‘A puonds, born Sunday, October 16. at the Barrett nursing home. Captain Allison is with the Na vy in French Morocco, North Africa. The Allisons have one other child—a daughter. SORENSON—Mr. and Mrs Charles Sorenson, of near Page, a son, born Friday, October 7, in the Orchard hospital. GILG — Mr. and Mrs Roy Gilg, of Atkinson, a daughter, Lynn Marie, weighing 8 pounds 4 ounces, bom Thurs day, October 13, in the O’Neill hospital. STRONG — Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Strong, of O’Neill, a daughter, weighing 7 pounds, born Saturday, October 15, in the O’Neill hospital. FUHRER — Mr. and Mrs. Sam Fuhrer, of O'Neill, a son, Michael Patrick, weighing 6 pounds and 6 ounces, born Tuesday, October 18, In the O’Neill hospital. This is their first child. Holt county people as well as outstate buyers displayed a high amount of interest in the show. Many of the 4-H calves purchased here were taken to Iowa, Minnesota and South Dakota. in the commercial divi sion of the show, 10 pens of five calves each and 35 sin gle calves wore entered. Edgar Her. ington, of Bas sett. took champion honors with his pen of five calves, with Mrs. LaVerne Robertson, of O’Neill, second, and John Neiwhoner, of Elgin, third. Herrington’s top five sold for $30 per hundred. Ivan Briggs, of Bartlett, showed the champion com mercial stocker-feeder single entry. It sold'for $37 per hun dred. John Neiwhoner took sec ond place single honors and Billy Marcellus, of O’Neill was awarded third place. Election was held here October 11. ‘ Sick and Injured O'NEILL —Andrew Wydas ke is ill at the. home of his daughter, Mrs. Sylvester Zak Irzewski. . . Mr. and Mrs. Je sejph Greitens returned Tues day from Missouri, where Mrs. Greitens had undergone a medical checkup. . . Mrs. C. D. Harmon underwent an op eration at a Sioux City hos pital Monday morning. Mrs M. L. Harmon and Mr. and Mrs. V. C. Johnson, Mrs. Har mon’s parents, who visited her, report that she is "get ting along fine.” . . Leonard Bazelman, a Frontier em ployee, n e.a r I y severed a thumb Sunday in a tree-cut ting accident. . . . Mrs. Bessie Klingler entered Lutheran hospi tal in Norfolk Tuesday . . , H. J. Hamond, who was operated on at the clinic at Rochester, Minn., is "coming along pretty well.” . . . Mrs. John Schmidt wras operated on at Our Lady of Lourdes hospital at Norfolk Tuesday. She is in "satisfactory” condition. • . Mrs. R. H. Shri ner has been sitting up occa sionally in her room at St. Elizabeth’s hospital in Lin coln, where she has been a patient several weeks. Re cntly she was critically ill imd four blood transfusions | were required. . . Richard and Harry Beilin, sns of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beilin, had their tonsils removed this week in Sioux City. CHAMBERS — Dale Bell went to Sioux City Wednes day, October 12, for medical care. , , Mrs. H. W. Hubbard returned Tuesday from Sioux City where she spent a week | with her daughter, Mrs. C. M. Eason, who was a patient at the Methodist hospital. She reports Mrs Eason’s condition as “improving.” PAGE—Rev. and Mrs. T. O. Brownfield left for Lincoln Monday morning, October 10, where Mr. Bownfield went though DeHill’s clinic for al lergies Tuesday, October 11, then went to Lincoln where 1 they visited Mr. Brownfield’s mother and sisters. They re turned home last Thursday. ATKINSON — Mrs. Henry Werner, of Atkinson, has been severely ill since suffering a heart attack Saturday, Octo-1 ber 8. Mrs. Frank Pruss is caring for her- . . Mrs. V. D. Petersen has been in a hospi tal at Norfolk where §he was treated for an eye infection.
