O'NEILL 4-H CLUB NEWS Riverside 4-H Club Meets— The Riverside 4-H club at tended Hay Days in Atkinson August 18, where we entered a float. We were lucky—win ning first prize on it. We enjoyed a picnic dinner under cover of the lumber yard. We wish to thank the Camp bell Lumber Co., in Atkinson, for their help in decorating our float. We also thank the Finkbine yard, of Inman, for loaning us the lumber, Fran ces Bazelman for his help and all the stores for trusting us. We surely appreciate your friendship, and we must not forget our mothers and fath ers. We are grateful to you all. We played ball Sunday. This time the boys beat the girls and the gummers, seemed good to relax as all our spare time has been used up work ing lately. Our next meeting was on August 28, at Dunkleberges. Inez Valley Club Meets Thrice— The Inez Valley Homemak ers 4-H club met at the home ' of our assistant leader, Mrs. Lee Gilman, on Wednesday, August 3. All members were present but two. | The younger girls worked on their pincushions. Some of the older girls worked on their 4-H garments. A “hot” game of baseball was played. A lunch was' served of jello, cake and iced tea with San dra Gilman as hostess. , The Inez Valley Homemak ers met at Mrs. Herbert Du i litz’s home on August 10 for an all-day meeting. All mem i bers were present. A business meeting was held in the i morning. We worked on our ; project in the afternoon. September 4 New Picnic Date— The fourth meeting of the Good Better Best 4-H club was held at Maureen Mur phy’s home on Tuesday, July 26. The meeting was opened by our president, Maureen Murphy. Roll call was read by Leah Serck, followed by the minutes. The girls discussed a 4-H community picnic. They de cided to have it August 28 but later changed the date t o September 4. We also discuss ed a float for Hay Days. After the business meeting the girls read their lessons and later Maureen Murphy led the group in singing.
