The double ring ceremony took place in the Methodist church in Atkinson. Miss Arlene Beckwith, of l Norfolk, the bridegroom’s sis- j ter, was maid-of-honor. Mr. Beckwith’s best man was Robert Blackmore, a brother of j the bride. The bride appeared in a 1 white woolen suit with white accessories. Her corsage was of white roses. Miss Beckwith was gowned in a light grey suit with brown accessories. She wore a cor sage of American beauty roses. The bridegroom wore a blue suit. His boutonniere was a white carnation. Mr. Black more, the best man, wore a brown suit. He also had a white carnation boutonniere. Mrs. Blackmore, the bride’s mother, and Mrs Beckwith, the bridegroom’s mother, both appeared in grey dresses and wore black accessories. Donald Beckwith, of O’Neill, and Daryl Beckwith, of Em met, served as ushers. Mrs. Beckwith is a gradu- J ate of Atkinson high school, j class of 1946. Mr. Beckwith | graduated from O’Neill high school in 1944. After a week’s trip to Om- : 1 aha and Lincoln, the young couple will reside in Atkinson where Mr. Beckwith is em ployed. Lois N. Fink a Bride at Page PAGE—Miss Lois N. Fink, daughter of George Fink, of Page, became the bride of Thomas E. Sinnard, of Grand Island, last Thursday at l the Methodist church here. Rev. T. O. Brownfield, church ' pastor, officiated. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Sinnard. The bride’s father now resides at Sheyenne, N. D. The bridesmaid was Miss I Barbara Trowbridge and the , bestman was RosS Fink. Mrs. Louis Kopecky, jr., of Inman, played the wedding music, and Miss Naomi Steinberg lighted the candles. The bride was given in marriage by her fat her. Mrs. Sinnard will continue her employment in a Grand Is land hospital. Mrs. Sinnard re cently joined the army and is now stationed at Ft. Riley, Kans. Mrs. Sinnard is a graduate of Page high school and has | been employed at Grand Is land. ! A reception honoring the newly-weds was held in the church parlors. Twenty-five guests were present. Honors Son and Daughter at Dinner Party — On Sunday, Mrs. Hope Con don entertained at a dinner party in honor of her son and daughter, ' Edward and Miss Mary. Edward is a midship man of the USNR at the Uni versity of Nebraska at Lin coln; Miss Mary lives in New, York City and visited her mother and family for the holidays. Johnson Family Together at Christmas Dinner — Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Johnson 1 were hosts at a holiday dinner for their children and their families. The guests were Mr. ancj Mrs. Claude Johnson and family, of Sioux Falls, S. D., and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin John- j son and daughter. This is the} first time in 12 years that thgd family has been united. -! Mr. and Mrs. Donald Shoe maker and son, Gary, of Ger ing, spent part of the holidays with his father, Bert Shoe maker, and with the Lyle Mc Kim family. They were accom panied by Miss Rosemary Big lin, an Omaha teacher, who also visited her parents, and Rex Tlortney, a student in Chi cago, 111.,' who was a housg guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Harty. Mr. and Mrs. C. McKim and family, of Broken Bow, arriv ed Thursday, December 23, for a visit with the Lyle C. Mc Kim family. They returned on New Year’s day. Houseguests of Miss Joanne Burgess were Miss Jane Lar son, of Grand Island, and John Burke, of Chicago, 111. Miss Larson left last Thursday af ter a four-day’s visit. Mr. Burke, a weekend guest, was returning from his home in Chicago to school at Fort Col lins, Colo. S/Sgt. Deraid Smith and his brother, Sgt. Bowen entertained the employees of the Ben Franklin store Thurs day evening with dinner at the M & M. followed by a party at the Bowen home. Robert Bowen returned to the University Tuesday after noon. Swann. Mr. Dawes’ mother re turned with them for a visit. Thomas DeBacker returned on Tuesday to St. Louis sem inary at St. Louis, Mo. Miss Maxine Golden, a stu dent nurse at St. Catherine’s hospital in Omaha, spent Fri day and Saturday, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Golden. „ , Mr. and Mrs. D. D. DeBolt and daughter, Patricia, left on Friday and returned Sunday evening from a visit with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs M. DeBolt. Keith Vincent went to Den ver, Colo., Monday. He return ed Thursday to the University of Nebraska medical school at Omaha, where he is a student. Mr. and Mrs H. J. Lohaus drove John Lee Baker to Sioux City Saturday. From there he flew to his base in Texas. John, who is an air cadet, spent the holidays here. Herman DeGroff and sons, Jay and Don, and his brother. Jay, spent Sunday in Burwell with Miss Florence DeGroff. Pfc. Raymond Closson spent the holiday with his mother, Mrs. Earl Closson. He went to report to his newly-assigned base in California. Miller; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Carson. <ellor Aid in ifule Parly — CHAMBERS — Tne Kellar Presbyterian aid held its an nual Christmas party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Eisenhauer on Wednesday, De cember 22. There were 17 women and seven men present. The vice-president, Mrs. Charles Coolidge, conducted a short business meeting in the absence of the president, Mrs. Young. It was decided to bring clothing for the Nebraska Chil dren’s home to the next meet ing which will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hol comb. A ter the business meeting, the ladies exchanged gifts and a period of visiting tpok place. The men spent the after noon fixing a bridge so people could get into the church yard on Christmas eve.
