PREMIER-TO-EE VISITS SOLDIERS . . .
David Ben Gurion (center), -at present chair
man of the Jewish agency but slated to be
come the prime minister of the Jewish state
to-be in Palestine, is shown at a Jerusalem
crrnp visiting soldiers of the Hanagah, Jew
i; h fighting force which has been carrying on
the Jews’ battle against the Arabs for
months. Haganah, about 75,000 strong, is
reported to be a well-trained, highly efficient
fighting force, yet these soldiers appear to be
just youngsters. Nevertheless, they have had
much experience in the difficult art of guer
rilla warfare.

GOOD MEDICINE FROM THE UNITED
f TATES . . . Beneficial results from the Am
erican Friendship trains know few bounds.
Arrival of a friendship train loaded with
nourishing food will give these tubercular pa
tients in a Vienna, Austria, hospital a better
chance to win their fight against the scourge.
Physician in charge has announced the arriv
all of the food on a blackboard in an open-air
ward. Doctors fighting tuberculosis in dis
ease-ridden nations of Europe have been ask
ing continually for food, as the best medicine
they can provide. This food was donated
by people of the 48 states and Alaska.

family of readers
is growing!
Yes sir! Each issue of The Frontier is rerd by mere people
than the previous irsue . . . because this newspaper's circu

Holt county newspapers combined!
There ere other features, too, that are helping boost The
Frontier s readership. These include: "Prairieland Talk."
by Rorr,',!rte 0 unders; "The Frontier Woman." by Blanche
Spann Pease: "When You and I Were Young"; "Out of Old
Nebraska"; "Real Estate Transfer"; "Future Subscribers";
and ether favorite departments. In addition. The Frontier
hires a corps of correspondents that provides fa steady flow
of news from the surrounding commmunities.
