Resolution
Whereas it is considered by
the County Board of Holt Coun
ty, Nebraska, that the rural
mail route and the star mail
route roads of Holt County
need improving by the appli
cation of gravel or other suit
able surfacing, and
Whereas Legislative Bill 195
of the 1947 Legislature of Ne
braska provided that the Coun
ty Board may submit the ques
tion to the people of the Coun
ty to be voted on at a Special
General election called by said
Board, as to whether said
County Board shall vote a
special annual tax of one mill
on the dollar valuation of all
tangible property in said coun
ty to be used for such purpose
until all of the rural mail route
and star mail route roads of
the County have been improv
ed by application of gravel or
other suitable surfacing,
NOW THEREFORE, Be it
Hereby Resolved by the Coun
ty Board of Holt County, Ne
braska, that a Special Election
of the qualified electors of Holt
County, Nebraska, be, and it is
hereby called to be held in the
several precincts, cities, towns,
villages, wards and polling
places in said County, on the
13th day of April, 1948, and
which election shall be con
ducted and carried on and no
tice of which shall be given by
the County Clerk of Holt Coun
ty, in the manner as provided
by law relating to Special and
general elections for county
purposes and at such Special
Election there shall be submit
ted to the qualified electors of
Holt County, Nebraska, the
question of the voting by the
Board of Supervisors of Holt
County, of a special annual
tax for that purpose of one
mill on the dollar valuation oi
all tangible property in saic
County of Holt until all of the
rural mail route and star route
roads of Holt County have
been improved by applicatior
of gravel or other suitable sur
facing.
Be it further resolved, thal
the County Clerk of Holl
County shall forthwith publish
for four weeks in a legal
newspaper of general circu
lation in Holt County, Ne
braska, a notice of such Spec
ial election which shall be
substantially in words and con

Meeting called to order by
the Chairman.
Minutes of the previous meet
ing read and approved as read.
Mr. H. J. O’Connor appeared
before the Board with an in
surance policy which would
cover public liability & prop
erty damage insurance on all
the County machinery and
trucks.
Motion was made by Wulf,
seconded by Collins that the
Board accept this policy to re
place the policy expiring Mar
ch 28, 1948.
The day was spent filling
out highway and transporta
tion maps showing A & B
roads.
Mr. Crook, District Engineer,
from Ainsworth, Nebraska met
with the Board in the after
noon to confer with and aid
them in making the maps.
5:00 P.M. On motion the
Board adjourned until 10:00 A.
