The Frontier SP. RTS STUART BRONCHS SPILLED 31-6 O’Neill Eagles Find Easy .Sailing; Saindon Uses 20 Players STUART—The O’Neill Eagles enjoyed little more than a brisk workout under the Stuart lights Friday night. Ih fact, the op position was hardly enough to keep the Blues out of Hallo we’en mischief. O'Neill won 31-6 after lead ing 12-0 at the half. Prof. Kelly Saindon cleared the bench of substitutes frequent ly. but the scoring mounted at regular intervals. The Bronchos came to life at one point by rolling 70 yards in two plays, gaining a first down on the O’Neill 4. In four more tries Stuart'managed to score. For the Eagles, End Dean Van Every racked up two touch downs, racing 55 yards for one tfore, and taking a 20-yard pass from Fullback Bob Matthews for the other. The play netted 45 yards and the touchdown. Matthews,* Quarterback Gor don Elkins and Halfback Dick Godel bucked through the line for O'Neill’s three other touch downs. The Eagles’ line performed well both offensively and de fensively. Superior weight, speed and seasoning spelled the difference between the two teams. BUTTON! Coach Marv Miller's Holt county club made two iixst half scoring gestures, but both were nullitied by penalties. One was called back on a holding charge; one on an off side. The second-half was essential ly a Battle Creek show as the nine seniors on the Madison county team simply spanked the younger Tigers. NELIGH - O'NEILL CLASH FRIDAY Observers Predict It One of Best Games of Season ! There will be a dozen other games in progress in these parts I come Friday night, but most eyes will be focused on the Ne | ligh-O’Neill tilt under the O’ Neill lights. Neligh will come two-gun ning for reprisal for last year's 6-34 reversal in which O' Neill's Dick Tibbetts wrote his name on the Neligh goal pests. s A stronger Warrior team will clash with a weaker, twice-beat en O’Neill club. Most observers predict that the results will be interesting. The Eagles’ backfield depart ment will be without Regular Wally Shelhamer and Sub Bill Rickley. Shelhamer has a bad ankle that is not mending prop erly, and Rickley is ill with a throat infection. Neligh's stock soared last weekend when the Warriors emerged 19-6 over previously unbeaten Elgin. Both O'Neill and Neligh hold victories over Ewing and Bassett. On paper, the game should be worth chips. Meanwhile, St. Mary’s Cardi nals are completing preparations for their finale Sunday at Spaulding. The Cards will face Spaulding academy. Halfback Shorty Miles, laid-up with a bad knee during the homecoming fracas with St. Joseph’s, of York, on October 26, is expected to be back in the Cardinal line up. Atkinson Subs Enjoy Themselves Against Spencer ATKINSON — The Atkinson subs had their day here Friday against Spencer. It was the first time this season that the under lings had an opportunity to work for Coach Smith’s Atkin son Balers, and at one point all hands were inexperienced un derclassmen. Atkinson won 27-6. Two Atkinson defensive stand outs were End Bob Horner and Leroy Rossman, who plays end of defensive. They nailed Spen cer carriers behind the line with some costly losses. * Like New Automobiles ? 1947 Chevrolet Fleetmaster, 4-Door, with Ra dio and Heater. 1947 Ford, 2-Door, with Radio and Heater. 1947 Chevrolet Fleetmaster, 2-Door, with Ra dio and Heater. *1947 Ford V - 8 Club Coupe, with Radio and Heater. 1947 Pontiac 6, Streamliner, with Radio and Heater. 1947 Ford V-8 VzTon Pickup.
