Bride in Pretty Church Wedding
INMAN — On Sunday at 2:30
p. m. at the Methodist church in
Inman, Miss Ruth Jeanette Wat
son, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Ira L. Watson, became the bride
of William J. Slushtr, jr., of
Pineville, Ky. Rev. Lloyd Mul
lis, of O’Neill, performed the
wedding ceremony at the altar
which was decorated with sal
mon pink gladioli, purple and
white lilacs and spirea. Taper
ing candles in tall candelabra
were on either side.
The b.ide was given in
mari iage by her father.
She wore a white satin gown
with a fitted bodice, deep pep
lum and short train. Her finger
tip veil of illusion fell from a ti
ara of orange blossoms. The
bride carried a bouquet of or
chids.
Mrs. Clifford Opper, of Boston,
Mass., sister of the bride, was
matron-of-honor and Miss Nellie
Ann Erickson and Mrs. LeRoy
Holtz, of Omaha, were brides
maids. They were gowned in
green, pink, and yellow taffeta
with matching shoulder length
coronet veils. They wore long
lace mitts and carried bouquets
of carnations.
The bride’s mother wore a
peek-a-boo mesh dress with gold
background and lavender flow
ers. Her accessories were white
and she wore a corsage of tea
roses.

kins, pianist, Mrs. John Watson,
violinist, and Miss Doris Hertz,
vocalist.
A reception at the Watson
home followed the ceremony.
Mrs. Robert Taylor, of Beatrice,
poured at the reception table,
with Mrs. William Johnston and
Miss Jean Kubik, of Omaha, Lu

The bride attended Wesleyan
university at Lincoln where she
was a member of Willard soror
ity. She is a graduate nurse of
Immanuel hospital in Omaha
where she has been employed.
Mr. Slusher is completing an
optometry course at Northern Il
linois college of Optometry, Chi
cago. 111. He served four and
one-half years in the Army Air
Force, part of which time was
spent in the southwest Pacific.
Prior to this he attended Union
college for- three years at Bar
berville, Ky.

Mr. and Mrs. Slusher left im
mediately following the recep
tion to spend their honeymoon at
Lake Okoboji, la., and will be at
home in Chicago, 111., after June
15.
