‘SPANISH FIESTA' THEME OF INMAN JUNIOR-SENIOR BANQUET - < INMAN—The senior class and the faculty of the Inman public school were guests of the junior class at a formal banquet and “prom” in the assembly room of the high school last Thursday evening. The “Spanish Fiesta” theme was featured. At 7 o’clock 30 “senors” and “senoritas” entered the room, which was decorated in blue and-gold, the senior class colors. A Spanish sombrero hung from the ceiling with blue-and-gold streamers radiating from it to the character “I,” which formed the centerpiece for the tables. Spanish dancers portrayed by Genevieve Brunckhorst, and a wishing well in a corner of the room completed the old Spanish scene. At intervals on the ta ble were blue candles, which formed the lighting effect, and white roses, the class llower. The placecards represented cacti. The nutcups were minia ture sombreros, memory books were in the shape of a fan, and Spanish favors were given to eacn guest . The six members of the soph omore class, Dotty Moore, Geor getta Sobotka, Barbara Brunck horst, Tom Clark, L e o n a rd Sholes and Larry Hopkins, dressed in Spanish costumes, served the three-course dinner, which had been prepared by the mothers of the juniors. The menu: Fruta bebida, (fruit drink); h a m o n asado (baked ham); patata (potatoes); salsa, (gravy); ensalada verde, (spring salad); quisante verde, (green peas); salmuera, (relish); jaleo, (jelly); rollos (rolls); nue ces, (nuts); duelces, (candy); pastel, (pie); n e v e v i a, (ice cream); and cafe, (coffee). After the banquet the entire high school group was invited to participate in the dance. The feature of the evening was the coronation of the king, Tom Blake, and the queen, Mary Lou Sholes, who had been voted by the entire high school.
