Returns from Baltimore—
Miss Maryan Brophy, R. N. of
O’Neill,’ has returned to Grand
Island after spending a montH in
Baltimore, Md., where she accom
paied an eight-months-old Grand
Island “blue baby’’ for treatment
in John Hopkins university hos
pital. The infant died March 6.
While in the East Miss Brophy
visited her brother, John, at
Providence, R. I,
Kirchmanns Honored —
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Kirch
mann were guests of honor at a
dinner for 10 given Sunday by
1 Mr. and Mrs. Lee E. Osborn. The
Kirchmann family moved this
week to Oregon.
They were honored at another
dinner party given bv the Os
borns. last Thursday. There were
also 10 guests present.
Bride-Elect Honored —
Mrs. Henry Mullen and Mrs. Ed
Olsen will be cohostesses tonight
(Thursday) at a surprise miscel
laneous shower given for Miss
Claire Smith, formerly of Califor
nia. Miss Smith, ;who is now re
siding with tha Mullens, will be

Mrs. George M. McCarthy was
hostess to the Birthday club Mon
day evening. The guest-of-honor
was Mrs. Glea H. Wade, who was
recipient of the highest score.
Mrs. Harry Sullivan won second
high and Mrs. Stanley Holly was
low.
Church Group Meets —
The intermediate Sunday
school class of the Methodist,
church met Sunday for a party. |

There were 12 girls present. Af-1

M. E. Asher sometime in April.
