Betty Lyons Bride of Ralph G. Rector Miss Betty Lyons, eldest daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Don O. Lyons, of O’Neill, Friday became the bride of Ralph E. Rector in a quiet ceremony at the First Pres byterian church at Belleville, Kans., it was announced this week by the bride’s parents. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Rector, of O’ Neill. Rev. Stepnen Yemm, who is known here, performed the mar riage rites. The couple departed following ^he ceremony on a wedding trip through southern Kansas and Missouri, returning here late Sunday. , . , At 10 p.m. Monday six carloads of friends and relatives gathered at the hohae. of the bridegrooms parents for a charivari. The couplfe presented their guests with treats after which cards were played. The bride attended high school in Kansas City, Mo., where she resided before moving here, and in O’Neill. Mr. Rector graduat ed from O’Neill high school in 1945. _ Elizabeth Kamphaus Bride Here Tuesday A pretty wedding was solem nized Tuesday at 8 a.m., at St. •Patrick’s Catholic church here when Elizabeth Kamphaus and Frank Nekolite, both of O Neill, exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony. , . .... The bride was attired in a light grey dressmaker suit with black accessories. Her only ornament was a double-strand of pearls, which had been a gift of the bridegroom. She carried a white prayerbook. Her attendant was Miss Eva Kmiecik, of Orchard, a niece of Mr. Nekolite. She wore a whitepearl necklace with ear rings to match. Both the bride and her attendant wore lapel cor sages consisting of red-and-wrute carnations tied with white nb b°Mr. Nekolite and his attendant John J. Kiczor, of Ewing, wore grey suits. , , A wedding breakfast was served at the Elite cafe. The couple will reside north ot O’Neill. _ Children Celebrate Birthdays in Two Affairs — Little Curtis Collins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Collins, celebrat ed his third birthday anniversary at a supper Tuesday. Among the guests were Mrs. M. A. Long, Curtis’ great-grandmother, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Long and son, Oran, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Pinker man, and son Loren, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Culver and Mrs. Eliza i Cooper, all of O’Neill. Another youngster to celebrate her birthday anniversary this week was little Karen Ann Carr, daughter of the Emmett J. Carrs. The affair took place Wednesday. The little guests had an enjoyable time despite the storm. -. f-ixt. Lansworih Heads Alpha Club — The Alpha club on January 22 held its first regular meeting of the year at the home of Mrs. H. S. Moses. Officers for the year were cho sen. Mrs. Harry Lansworth is the new presieht. A donation was voted to be giv en to the polio fund.
