The Place We Live’
The Elkhorn Project club stud
ied O’Neill’s growth and changes
in its meeting last Thursday at
the home of Mrs. Pete Fetrow.
Mrs. Albert Klinger was assist
ing hostess.
Mrs. Frank Greenier and Mrs.
Fetrow had charge of the lesson,
which was entitled, “The Place
We Live.”

Neill’s buildings, including vari
ous schools, churches, postoffices,

during the past 35 years. Mrs.

in the city’s water and sewer
systems and the paving of the
streets. Mrs. Max Greenier dis
played old photographs in con
nection with her remarks. Mrs.
Klinger told of several O’Neill
residents who have become prom
inent nationally.
Gift Exchange Planned —
The O’Neill Woman’s club will
meet at the home of Mrs. James
W. Rooney for the annual Christ
mas party next Wednesday at
2:30 p.m. There will be the us
ual gift exchange.

NEWLYWEDS RESIDING HERE
In a quiet wedding ceremony
at Bassett on October 21, Miss
Doris Wells and Robert Allen
dorfer, both of O'Neill, ex
changed nuptial vows.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Walter W. Wells,
: formerly of near O’Neill, now
of near Butte. The bridegroom
is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip
All*»ndorfer.
The bridegroom served in the
Army for 33 months in the Eu
ropean theater.
They are residing in O’Neill.

entertained the Sunday evening
dinner club at a 7 p.m. dinner at
the M & M cafe and bridge at
their home. High scores were
won by Mrs. James Rooney and

married November 27 in Atlanta,
Ga., her oarents have announced.
She became the bride of Lucian

mony took place in the Lutheran

The couple met while Miss Rei
mer was employed in Kansas
Gity, Mo. She is a graduate of
the O’Neill high school, in the
:lass of 1942, and taught one
term in a rural school near Cham
bers.

Club Meets —
The South Side club had its
regular meeting and Christmas
party at the home of Mrs. Agnes
Gaffney on December 4. Eigh
teen members and several guests
were present.
Following the covered dish
luncheon and Iho business meet
ing, Mrs. Leon Beckwith review
ed Grace Streeter Aldrich's book,
“Spring Came on Forever.”
There was a gift exchange and
the annual box was packed for
the children of the Orthopedic
hospital in Lincoln.
The January meeting will be
at the home of Mrs. John Conard.

Mrs. Dale Kersenbrock enter
tained her bridge club last Thurs
day evening at a 7 p.m. dinner at
the M & M cafe and bridge at
the home. High scores were won
by Mrs. Melvin Ruzicka and Mrs.
Allen P. Jaszkowiak.
Wednesday Afternoon Club
Meets with Mrs. Burgess —
Mrs. L. A. Burgess entertained
the Wednesday afternoon bridge
club at her home. Bridge prizes
were won by Mrs. C. E. Lundgren
and Mrs. J. L. Sherbahn.
Two modern stucco residences,
each with two 45-foot lots, will
be sold at public auction at the
Holt county courthouse, Wednes

Mrs. Hugh Ray left Friday for
Dallas, Tex., for a week’s visit
with relatives.
Harry E. Ressel spent Monday
and Tuesday in Lincoln on bus

day and Wednesday in Omaha.
Mrs. O. W. French went to
Lincoln Monday to visit her par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Hart.

Pace returned last Thursday from
St. Joseph, Mo., where they had
been visiting their son and bro
ther, George Pace, and family,
