Bride-Elect, Feted
Miss Man- Harty, a bride-elect,
was feted three times during the
past week. A daughter of Mrs.
W. H. Harty, she will wed Joseph ;
Kocina, of Creighton, on August
29, at a 9 a.m. nuptial mass in St.
Patrick’s Catholic church here. j
On Monday evening, Mrs. J. P.
Brown honored Miss Harty. The
guests were members of the Con
tract club. After dinner, cards
were played and the bride-elecc
was surprised with numerous
gifts.
Miss Rosemary Biglin enter
tained at a miscellaneous shower
Tuesday noon at the M & M cafe
for Miss Harty. The luncheon was
also in honor of Miss Gertrude
Daly, of Omaha, who has been
Miss Biglin’s guest.
Mrs. George Hammond had an
evening “get-to-gether” Tuesday
for Miss Harty and Miss Chickie
Iler, of O’Neill, who is returning
to her position in New York City
after spending her vacation here.

hosts at a dinner at the Country
club. The Chicagoans were guests
of Mr. and Mr. C- E. Stout at
breakfast Sunday at the M & M
1 cafe.

T. Crowley, who has held num
, erous high government posts.
Loy Family Holds
Reunion; ’Phone Absentees
A family reunion was held over
the weekend at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. David N. Loy. Seven of'
their nine sons and daughters, and
their families, were present. The
two absentees, Mrs. Arthur Goree,
of The Delies, Ore., and1 Richard,
of Los Angeles, Calif., were con
tacted by long distance telephone.
Those present were Mr. and Mrs.
J. M. Kennedy and family, of
Ainsworth; Mr. and Mrs. Rolland
Loy, and family, of Salt Lake City,
Utah; Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Layton,
of Grand Island; Mr. and Mrs.

with Paul Tallon, of Omaha, on
Sunday, August 11, at the home
of the bride’s parents, Dr. and
Mrs. O. VV. French. Rev. Lloyd
W. Mullis, Methodist church
pastor, officiated. The Tallons

H J. Worth Marks 84th
Birthday Anniversary
H. J. (Herb) Worth observed
his 84th birthday anniversary Sun
day at the home of his daughter,
Mrs. Roy Karr, at Spencer. Mr. j
Worth is a pioneer in this section.
All of his eight sons and daugh
ters, their wives and husbands,
and his grandchildren, great
grandchildren and numerous
friends helped him mark the event.
Mr. Worth, who is enjoying excel
lent health, has been making his
home with Mrs. Karr since Mrs.
Worth’s death 11 years ago.
Dinner and supper were served
cafeteria style. A highly-decorated
birthday cake centered the table.
