Among the towns in which theste conferences will be held are O’Neill and the meeting here wll be held on Tuesday, May Tth. The purpose of the conferen ces is to more closely coordinote the wftrk of city, county, state and federal law enforcement offi aers in their efforts to combat the rising crime rate which stat istics for 1945 show to be the greatest in 11 years. An interesting feature of the conferences will be a discussion of erman, Japanese and Italian fireorms known to have been smuggled into the United States during the war, some of which officers will very probably en counter in the hands of the un derworld.
