Lod Janousek and daughter, Martha Mae, of O’Neill, visited Jerrold Dusatko Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Winkler. Joe Weber and Betty Bergman, of Omaha, were business callers in Ev/ing Wednesday. Mr. ind Mrs. Leonard Dusatko and daughters spent last Sunday and Monday at Stanton, visiting relatives and friends. Mrs. Charles Prussa receiv d word from her husband, Pfe. Charles Prussa, that he landed safely at Norfolk, Va., and would be home soon. Mrs. Bernard Dusatko and son, Jimmie, were dinner guests at tfie Norb Uhl home in O'Neill Wednesday. Mary Uhl r turned with them to spend u week. Mrs. Bernard Dusatko, Mary Uhl, Wendell and Rose Maiy Babl and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Dusatko visited st the Henry Benze home Saturday evening. Visitors at the Joe Babl home Thursday evening were: Joe Weber and Betty Bergman, of Omaha; Mrs. Joe Winkler ard son, Charles, and Armella Pon gratz. Miss Eileen Tenborg returned to her home in Omaha on Wed nesday. Mrs. Walter Puckett and children accompanied her to Omaha, where they will visit rela tives and friends. Mrs. Dorothy Kramer reeciv d a telegram from her husband. Lt. Kramer, that he had landed sole ly at Newport, Va., and would be home soon. Joe Berger and Betty Bergm in. of Omaha, spent several days last week visiting at the Joe Winkler home. They returned to their home Sunday and were accom panied by Florence Winkler and Amelia Pongratz. Mr. and Mrs. John Kce receiv ed word from their son, Pvt. Mer vin Kee, that he is on his way home from the Philippines. He has been in the armed forces four years and never had a furlough home. Master Sgt. and Mrs. Francis Regal and daught r arrived at the home of his parents. Mr. and Mrs. James Regal Saturday evening for a few days visit. M. Sgt. Regal has received his discharge. He had been in the army for several years, most of the time he was in service he spent in Canada as a Weather forecaster. INMAN ITEMS Cal Geary is visiting at Her man. Nebraska. Mrs. Sarah Shiles spent the week-end in Orchard. | The W. S. C. S. served lunch at the Krueger sale last Friday. The Harmony Club met at the home of Mrs. Earl Miller Tuesday. Inman and Oakdale played baseball at Inman 1st Friday with, Oakdale winner. Monday Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stark and Mrs. Ruth Schilling left for Buhl, Idaho. Mrs. Lena Butler has been con fined to her home the last week with a heart attack. Bill Jensen, of Grand Island, visited friends and relatives at Inman over the week-end. Helma KcstcnhoKz is in the hospital in Norfolk. She had an operation Friday for app ndicitis. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Roeae. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Risor and family, of O'Neill. we:e Ne’igh visitors Wednesday, Mr. and Mrs. H. Abrams, of I Omaha, arrived in Inman last Tuesday to spend several weeks at their summer home. The Adult Fellowship held a hard time party Thursday night at the Aid Parlors. A prize was given for the best costume. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tams and family moved to their new home on the Lee & Prentice randh southeast of Atkinson last Mon day. Mrs. Minnie Hansen, Lois and Lyle, of Creighton, and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hetrick visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thom sen. Reinhholt Reimers has been discharged from the service and is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Reimers and other rel atives. Charles Fowler, of Omaha, who has been visiting his daughter, Mrs. Lena Butler, returned home Friday with his son, Mark, of Omaha, who came after him. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Nielsen and family and Mr. and Mrs. Lewie Neilsen and family, of Creighton, spent last Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clar ence Hansen. Mrs. Harvey Tompkins, Ly nell and Roger and Mrs. Leon Tompkins left Sunday for Utica, Nebr., where they will visit Mrs. Harvey Tompkins’ parents, Mr. i and Mrs, Karl Cadwell for a few days. A reception sponsored by the Adult Fellowship was given to the teachers off the Inman Public school and to the teachers of the surrounding districts. Also for Rev. E. B. Maxcy. pastor of the Inman Methodist Church who is serving his tenth year. Upon his discharge from the service he came back to I O'Neill to be with his parents, j Mr. and Mrs C. C Millard, Holt j county pioneers. Ralph cared for his parents until their passing three years ago. He then went; to Denver to make his home with ; his sister, Mrs. Irvine Hughes. IA week ago he suffered an at tack of appendicitis and enter ed Fitzsimmons General Hospital at Denver. His condition was critical from the start, and although he made a gallant fight and everything humanly possible was done for his recovery, he passed away Sun nay morning, September 30. Ralph leaves a host of O’Neill friends to mourn his passing be sides his sisters, Mrs. L. B. Messa car of Omaha; Mr3. Irvine E. Hughes, Denver, Col.; and one brother, Fred Millard, of Omaha. The body was shipped to this city and funeral services were held from the Methodist Church Tursday, October 4, and interment in Prospect Hill cemetery. PAGE NEWS ITEMS Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Mrs. Margaret Anderson re turned home Sunday, after spending a few days visiting*at the homes of her daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Walt Asher and son at Fremont, and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Lichty and family, of near Lin coln. The Get-to-Gether Club met with Mrs. T. Kemper Friday after noon with thirteen members at tending and one guest, Mrs. Gett man. The afternoon was spent socially. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Otto Mat sehullat. Mrs. Herbert Steinberg and Miss Lela Garwood were host esses to the Contract Bridge Club at the Steinberg home Monday evening. Mrs. Robert Gray and Mrs. Harold Kelly were guests. Mrs. Alton Braddock received high score and Mrs. A. L. Dorr the traveling prize.
