Mrs. Mattie Soukup took Fran cis Summers to the University hospital in Omaha Friday. He will undergo treatment there. Miss Leona Hynes came up from Hastings Monday and will spend a week visiting , at the M. A. Shellkopf home. Miss Ruth Hoffman spent last week at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Hoffman, north of Chambers. Miss Josephine Mlnarik spent last week-end at Ewing visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mlnarik. Miss Katie Wood went to Chambers Sunday, where she will remain until August 28 when she is to report at Hunter College, New York, and receive her training in the Waves. R. E. Nightingale, one of the hustling farmers and stockmen in the Dorsey neighborhood, was in O’Neill on business last Friday and made this office a pleasant call and had his name enrolled on The Frontier’s large and grow ing list of readers. Mr. Nightin gale said that he wanted to keep posted on the happenings in the county and he thought the best way to do so was to read one of the county’s leadng newspapers.^ Pvt. Albert W. Stoffer, USMC.,\ of St. Anges, Cal., came home last Thursday on a fifteen day furlough which he is spendng wth his mother, Mrs. Dewey True, of the Opportunity neighborhood. Pvt. Stoffer recently returned from overseas, where he put in two years in the South Pacific.
