things that Bridget Carney, a

estate may be dispensed with;
that there is no inheritance tax,
state or federal, due from this
said estate or the heirs thereof
and that there are no debts
against said estate and that the
claims of all creditors are barred
and for such other and further
relief as may be just and equit
able.

of Holt County, Nebraska, in the
County Court Room in the Court
House in the City of ONeill, Ne

day to attend the funeral of a

Mr. and Mrs H.: G. Kruse and
daughter, Patricia, returned Tues
day from Oswea City, Iowa, after
spending a week there visiting
relatives.
Mrs. A. R. Vorce returned
home Thursday, after spending
three weeks at the University
hospital in Omaha.
Miss Jessie Smith spent the
week-end in Inman visiting her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John
Smith.
Lt. (J. G.) and Mrs. C. E. Cron
in and daughters, Frances and
Kathleen, came up from Grand
Island Sunday afternoon to spend
a couple of days visiting relatives
here. They had just returned to
Grand Island from four months
at Cambridge, Mass., where Lt.
Cronin was receiving instructions
at Harvard University. He com
pleted his course there the last
i of July and they then returned
to their home at Grand Island.
He will leave Sunday for San
Diego, Cal., where he will report
for duty on the 16th. Mrs. Cronin
and the children will remain at
their home in Grand Island.
A. L. Stearns returned home
Friday from Ottumwa, S. D.,
where he had been employed the
past year.
Mrs. Dave Loy and daughter,
Davene, went to Orchard Friday
to visit their sister and aunt, Mrs.
John Walmer. Ruth Ann Fletch
er will return with them to visit
until Sunday,
Cadet Nurse Ruthanne Flet
cher, of Orchard, spent Tuesday
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dave
Loy.
Lt. James Herre of Altos, Ok.,
came Thursday to visit his par
ents, Mr. and Mrs O. M. Herre.
James received his silver wings
in Oklohoma last week.
Mrs. W. B. Pharris spent Tues
day in Omaha, visiting relatives
and friends.
The Country Club luncheon
was held Wednesday at the M
and M; later the guests went to
the Country Club to play cards.
High was won by Mrs. Irving
Johnson; second high by Mrs.
E. M. Gallagher and all cut by
Mrs. L. A. Burgess.
Mrs. L. M. Rieckhoff left Fri
day for Orange City, Iowa, where
she will visit for a few days and
then go to Omaha for a visit, be
fore returning to her home in
Chicago.
G. A. Kiplinger, of Butte has
received word that his son, Ger
ald R. Kiplinger was slightly
wounded in France. Gerald is
quite well known in this city,
where he was known as “Kip”
and all his friends hope that tht
injury is slight and then he will
soon recover.
The Wheeler County Fair and
Rodeo, an annual August attract
ion in this part of the country,
will show on next Saturday and
Sunday, August 18th and 19th.
Friday, August 17th is entry day.

week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Pres
ton Jones and family.
Miss Mildred Cavanaugh left
Wednesday for Hastings, where
she has accepted a position.

turning Monday.

H. Shriner returned home Satur
day from Omaha, after spending
several days there visiting
friends.

Mrs. D. D. Courtright, of Mem
phis, Term., came Wednesday to
visit her sister, Mrs. Neil Ryan
and family.
Mrs. A. M. Beelart, Sr., of
Ewing, spent Wednesday in this
city visiting Mrs. Neil Ryan and
family and Mrs. D. D. Courtright.
Word was received by Mrs.
Elizabeth Jones that her son,
Staff Sgt. Harold B. Jones had
been transferred from Honolulu
to Siapain Islands.
Mrs. Lester Sheets received
word that her husband, Pvt. Les
ter Sheets, of Camp Barclay,
Texas, is now in the hospital.
She has noi report of his condition,
as yet.
