Will WACS
Make Good Wives
A well known lawyer has stated
that three-fourths of all divorces
are caused by incompatabilijty.
But we hope there will be very
few cases of this kind when GI
Joes marry GI girls after the war.
When 50 women are quartered
together and go to work each
morning without a scratch, con
sidering that these women are a
conglomeration of different re
ligious faiths, ages, races, tem
perments, and educations, you’ve
got to rand it to the WACS;
they’ve learned to get along with
people and work as a unit.
So when victory banners are
furled, there will be more toler
ance, more patience, more under
standing, more unselfishness in
the feminine minds. Joes have
learned a lot, too, along these
lines. There will be cooperation
on both sides.
Women who have lived the
simple army life will not find
luxuries so important. There will
be quite an adjustment in GI Joe
becoming a civilian again. Miss
GI Girl will know how to speak
his language. The Wac will un
derstand.
Tolerance, understanding, self
control, orderliness, and cheer
fulness. with all this to offer, Wacs
will make good wives—good
mothers.

Chairman McNutt, of the War

areas of the United States not
later than July 1. This is a pro

mitted to hire male workers from
among those referred by the

the United States Employment
Service. The program does not
include farm employers and farm
workers. In northeast Nebraska
the Norfolk War Manpower Com

in this area will not be as rigid

The exact regulations to be fol

meeting on June 19. Prior to
