Pvt. Robert Hansen left Wed
nesday for Camp Blanding,
Florida, after spending his leave
here visiting his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Carsten Hansen.
Miss Alvara Ramm, of Stuart,
spent Tuesday and Wednesday
here visiting Miss Mary Jewell
Walker.
r John Shoemaker, who has

of Nebraska, arrived home last
Wednesday, to spend the sum
mer visiting hife fcarenfe, |Mir.
and Mrs. John Shoemaker.
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Clouse
received word from their son,
Bob, that he had arrived safely
back in the U. S. A., after al
most two years of overseas duty.
Lately he has been in Italy and
Sigily. They expect him home
on leave shortly.
Mrs. M. G. Hester and son,
Bobby, of Lincoln, came up last
Friday for a short visit with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Sire.
She came up with Lt. and Mrs.
Sire and returned home with
them Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Griffith and
son, Tommy, of North Platte,
came up Saturday for a visit with
his mother, Mrs. F. H. Griffith,
and with, her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Preston Jones, of the Meek
neighborhood and other relatives
and friends in that section. They
will remain all week.
Lt. and Mrs. Eugene M. Sire,
of Camp Claybourn, La., came up
last Friday for a few days visit
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
E. Sire north of O’Neill. They
left Wednesday for Lincoln,
They will visit there for a few
days and then go back to his post
of duty in Louisiana. Mrs. Sire
has been living in Lincoln, being
a teacher in the State University
but she will accompany her hus
band south. _ _
Staff Sgt. John J. McCaffery
arrived Sunday from Tyler,
Texas, to visit his mother, Mrs.
Ruth McCaffery and other rela
tives and friends. He recently
returned from Panama where he
Had been stationed for twenty
eight months. „ ,
Miss Mabell Osenbaugh ar
rived home from Mullen, Nebr.,
last Thursday and will spend
the summer vacation visiting the
home folks. During the past
year she had been on of the
teachers in the Mullen schools.
Technical Sgt. Owen McCaffery
arrived Sunday from Tyler,
Texas, to visit his mother, Mrs.
Ruth McCaffrey and other rela
tives and fritnds. Owen and his
brother, John, have been together
ever since they entered the army.
Own recently returned from
Panama, where both he and John
had been stationed for twenty
eight months.
Mrs. Helen Sirek and daughter,
Yvonne, left Monday for Pierce
to spend a few days with Mrs.
Sirek’s mother, Mrs. Josephine
Kroumtorad. From there they
will go to Chicago, where they
will make their home tempor
arily, while Yvonne takes a
course at the Chicago College
of Laboratory Technics.
A mariage license has been
issued to Orval Neal, 18, O’Neill
and Violet Porter 16, Atkinson.
