recently graduated as a gunner
on a B-17 from Las Vegas, Nevada
arrived Friday morning for a
twelve day furlough with his par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Wanser.
A group of relatives and friends
gathered at the home of Mrs.
Leonard Heiss Tuesday, where
they held a surprise housewarm
ing in her honor. A covered dish
dinner was served at noon and
the afternoon was spent socially
at games. Forty-eight were pres
ent.
Mrs. Jennie Holloway and
Walter Snyder entertained a few
friends jointly at the Holloway
home Friday evening at an oyster
supper. Guests were: Mr. and
Mrs. George Rost, Mr. and Mrs.
H. L. DeLancey, Mr. and Mrs. D.
E. Bowen and Mr. and Mrs. J. R.
Russell.
Ensign and Mrs. Norman F.
Tegeler arrived Tuesday from Ft
Schuyler, N. Y., and will spend a
week with Ensign Tegeler s par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Tegeler.

guests of Mrs. R D. Copes Mon

for California where she will
spend some time visiting relatives

for Inglewood, Cal., where she
will spend some time helping care
for her daughter, Mrs. Donald
Murphy, who is ill at her home
there.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wood left
Friday morning for Salina, Kan
sas, where they will visit their
son, Cpl. Warren F. Wood who is
stationed at Smokey Hill Air
Field.
Pfc. Austin Nickel, who had
spent some time here visiting rel
atives and friends, left Friday to
return to his duties at Fort Dix,
N. J.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Black and
son, of Ewing, were Sunday din
ner guests at the A. B. McClure
home.
Mrs. Frank Chmeler and daugh
ters, of Norfolk, spent the week
end at the C. A. Townsend home.
Mr. and Mrs Sid Rhoades and
daughters of ScottsblufF, visited
the fore part of the week with
relatives and friends in Page.
They are being transferred to
Salt Lake City, Utah.
Mrs. H. O. Stevens arrived
Sunday from Atkinson for a few
days visit with relatives and
friends in Page.
Mrs. H. L. DeLancey spent sev
eral days last week visiting her
niece, Mrs. Elmer Lindahl, who is
seriously ill at her home in Neligh.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Snyder, of
Ainsworth, visited Monday even
ing and Tuesday at the Walter
Snyder home.
Mrs. Bessie Wanser, who is em
ployed in defense work in Mead,
spent several days at the Frank
Cronk home here.

Miss Ruth Taylor arrived Tues
day of last week from Troy, Ohio,

The Past Oracles of the Royal
Neighbor Lodge entertained the
remainder of the lodge at a party
at the hall last Wednesday even
ing. A social evening was spent
and refreshments Were served.
