Miss Mary Helen Martin enter tained at a theatre party and luncheon at the M and M on Sun day, in honor of her sister, Ann, who celebrated her birthday. Mr. and Mrs. John McCarthy and family returned to their home in Omaha on Saturday, after vis iting relatives and friends here for a few days. George Edward McCarthy accompaied them to Omaha for a visit. Mrs. Charles Yarnall Sr., and daughter Bonnie, of Lynwood, Cal., and Mrs. Robert Calvert and children of Norfolk, visited rela tives and friends here last week. The Tuesday evening Club met at the home of Mrs. John Aider man. Mrs. Jerry Miller won first high, Mrs. Harold Weir second high, and Mrs. Harrison Bridge third high. Mrs. Addie Wrede left Tues day for Greeley, Col., to visit her daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Easton and son, Charles, for several weeks. Miss Henrietta Schrier and Miss Herbertta Russ entertained thir teen guests at a picnic supper at the City Park Friday evening in honor of Miss Elizabeth Graves, of Washington, D. C., Mrs. Ben Asher of Neosha, Mo., and Miss Ruth Harris. F. J. Dishner, Roy Sauers, Dr. French and George French, of Page, returned Wednesday from Minnesota, where they had gone on a fishing trip. They report a very fine time and very good luck. The 9FF Club met at the home of Mrs. Harrison Bridge last Thursday evening. High score was won by Mrs. Jerry Miller, Second high by Mrs. Harold Weir and Third high by Mrs. Herb Peterson. Holt county relatives have re ceived word that Paul Zakrzewski who is in the United States army in Australia, had been promoted from private first class to Corpor al. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Zakrzewski, who live in the northeastern part of the county.
