As this year is the Club’s tenth birthday, a birthday cake with ten candles was used as a center piece. This was the annual busi ness meeting and the following officers were elected for the com ing year: President, Mrs. Carl Widtfeldt; vice president, Mrs. Sam Robertson; secretary, Mrs. Ed Boshart and treasurer, Mrs. Harry Lansworth.. Two new members have enter ed the Clubu During past year two Readers’ Digests and three boxes have been sent boys on foreign fields. We hops for a pro gressive year as with war ac tivities we need a Club with edu cational and recreational projects as its aim more than ever. This office received a letter from Senator Asimus this morn ing in which he stated that he was having copies of the Senate Daily Journal and copies of all bills introduced sent to all county clerks, county attorneys and all of the High schools in this Twenty eighth district and anyone inter ested in them can look them over at these places. Heavy Run Of Livestock At Monday’s Sale Here With the nice weather continu ing, an extra heavy run of both hogs and cattle showed up at the local sale here Monday. There were over 600 hogs with the mar ket being lower than last week. Butcher hogs brought from $14.00 to $14.05 with the latter price being the top and paid quite freely. Sows sold from $13.35 to $13.40. There was another nice run of light pigs that brought from $7.50 to $11.00 per head. There were several good bunches of cattle that came in with the total number of head being over 500. The cattle price stood steady with last week’s average. Steer calves brought from $14.50 to $15.55, while heifer calves sold from $12.50 to $14.00 per hundred. Yearling steers brought from $12.50 to $13.50 and yearling heifers sold from $11.00 to $12.00. There was a good run of cows with the beef kind bring ing from $10.50 to $11.35; canners and cutters brought from $7.00 to $10.00. There were several bulls and they sold from $10.50 to $12.20. A few sheep were sold by the head and brought good prices. Next sale Monday, January 18. Presbyterian Church Sunday school at 10 A. M. The Young Peoples Society will meet in the church at 7 p. m.
