Mrs. Roy Bearce went to Nor folk Tuesday, where she will be a relief operator for the Bell Tel ephone Company. Mrs. Anna McCartney spent over the 4th of July with relatives and friends at Naper and Butte. Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Rhode en tertained at a 7 o'clock birthday dinner at their home Tuesday ev ening, honoring their daughter, Mary Rita, and aunt, Mrs. Harry Clauson. Gus DeBacker spent the week end at Knoxville, Iowa, visiting his brother. Dr. Robert Biglin of St. Louis, Mo., arrived Friday to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Big lin, and family. The Misses Virginia Watson and Vera Schollmeyer of Dorsey spent from Friday until Sunday in the Black Hills of South Da kota. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Schultz and children of Waukon, Iowa, were guests of Mrs. Helen Simar on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Planck of Spearfish, S. Miss Vira Eidenmiller, who is on a two weeks vacation from her duties at J. C. Penney Co. store, left Tuesday for Mexico, Mo., to visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Todson. Miss Eileen Robertson of Joy came Tuesday and is a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Robertson. Joe Stutz, who is taking his two weeks vacation from Brown McDonald store, left Tuesday for Hebron to visit his mother. Claude Johnson and children of Sioux Falls, S. D., came Saturday to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. O. John son and Mrs. and Mrs. John Prot ivinsky. Mr. Johnson returned to Sioux Falls on Sunday and Mrs. Johnson and children remained for a longer visit. This office has received an an nouncement of the birth of a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Grill at Falls City, Nebr., on June 29. The little lady weighed nine nounds and two ounces and will be known as Sondra Sue. Every one getting along fine. Tommy DeBacker arrived home Monday from Denver, Colo.,where he had been visiting relatives for the past month. Mrs. Grace Wilcox returned Tuesday from a two weeks vaca tion spent with relatives at Oma ha and Orchard.
