BRIEFLY STATED
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Chapman
of Omaha, who has been visiting
at the home of Mrs. Chapman’s
mother, Mrs. James McPharlin,
left on Monday for their home.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Davidson and
daughter, Eileen, drove to Stuart
on Monday to visit their son, Jim
mie, who is in the Stuart hospital
recovering from an operation.
Dr. J. P. Brown left on Sunday
for Chicago, Illinois, where he will
attend a convention of railroad
physicians being held in that city
this week.
Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Herre drove
to Linoln, Nebraska, on Sunday,
taking their son, Jimmie, to that
city to enter his second year at the
university.
Dr. and Mrs. B. F. Gleason, of
Randolph, Nebraska, spent Sun
day in O’Neill visiting at the home
of Mr .and Mrs. P. B. Harty and
other relatives.
Mrs, Anna Jordan and daughter,
Dorothy, left on Monday for Oma
ha, where Dorothy will enter her
sophomore year at Creighton Uni
versity.

home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Jim Davidson.
Rev. B. J. Leahy of Laurel, Ne
braska, and Rev. C. A. Beyersdorf
er of St. John’s, Deloit, were in
O’Neill, Tuesday and Wednesday
visiting friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Bain, of Greg
ory, S. D., came over Wednesday
to attend the celebration and to
visit with relatives and friends
here.
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard McNally
announce the birth of twin boys on
Tuesday, September 17. The boys
have been named David Gerald and
Michael Terrance.
Miss Helen Darcy, of Omaha,left
Saturday for Creighton, Nebraska
where she will visit before return
ing to her work in Omaha. While
in O’Neill Miss Darcy was the
guest of Miss Grace Connelly.
Mrs. F. M. Brennan and Miss
Bernadette Brennan returned on
Friday from a ten days visit with
Colonel F. M. Brennan nt Fort
Knox, Ky., and Mr. and Mrs. Em
met Dayle at Chicago, Illinois.
Drs.* Gadbois & Stewart, Eye,
Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists,
of Norfolk, Nebraska, will be in
O’Neill at Dr. Carter’s office all
day Wednesday, September 25.

drove to Omaha and Council Bluffs
last Sunday and spent the day there
visiting relatives.

to Norfolk on Tuesday evening,
where they attended a meeting of
Gamble Store employees.
Bill Beha, who has been here
visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. I
W. H. Beha for the past six months,
left Thursday morning to resume
his work at the Grassland Hos
pital, New York State.
Harlin C. Brugger of Gordon,
Nebraska, was before the county
judge on September 18th charged
with operating an overloaded
truck. He pled guilty to the charge
and was fined $10.00 and costs of
$4.45.
Wayne Johnson, of Hay Springs,
arrested on a complaint signed by
Patrolman Harry Brt was before
the county court on September
17th, charged with overloading hie
truck. He pled guilty, was fined
$10.00 and costs of $3.10.
Mrs. Pete Heriford and Miss Ag
nes Reznicek drove to Grand Is
land on Monday, taking Mrs. Opie
Chambers, who has been visiting
here to that city, where she took
the train for her home at Los An
geles, California.
Miss Dorothy Newman and Miss
Margaret Martin entertained eight,
een guests at a pre-nuptial shower
at the home of Mrs. James Mc
Pharlin on Friday evening, honor
ing Miss Lillian Nightengale, who
is to be married soon.
Mrs. Hugh Coyne and daughter,
Nadine, left on Monday for Lin
coin, where Miss Coyne will at
tend the University of Nebraska,
this year. For the past two years
Miss Coyne has been attending St.
Teresa’s at Winona, Minn,

Mr. Allan Jaszkowiah, formerly of
Rushville, Nebraska, will be open
ed to the public on Saturday, Sep
tember 21, and the formal opening
will be held some time in the near
future.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Reiser, of
Friend, were in the city the lat
ter part of last week visiting rela
tives and friends. While in the
city Mrs. Reiser was a pleasant cal

drove to Lincoln on Thursday,
where they visited Mrs. A. E. Bow
en, who is in the hospital there re

Herman Glaser and Louis Pfaff,
both of Fairfax, S. D., were in
county court on Saturday, Septem
ber 14th on a complaint signed by
Patrolman Lawrence Russel, charg
ing them with operating a truck
outside the reciprocity agreement.
They pled guilty to the charge
and were fined $10 and costs of
$4.05.
