    O’NEILL BUSINESS MEN
-WELCOMES —
“SOOMEN” OF SIOUX CITY AND
THE BURLINGTON “SILVER STREAK”
Train Will Arrive
In O’Neill
At 6:05 P. M.
Thursday, April 4
The appearance of this train on the O’Neill line of the Burlington Railway was only made
possible through the activity of the “Soomen” Committee of the Sioux City Chamber of Com
merce. This organization, after negotiating with officials of the railroad for three weeks, char
tered the train, and 150 business men will board the special for a trip to O’Neill.
The “Silver Streak” is the last word in modern transportation and will be seen by many
who have as yet never had the opportunity before to view one of these beautiful streamliners.
The train is composed of a 2,000 horsepower diesel-electric locomotive, mail car, express
car, two luxurious chair cars and a combination dining and parlor-lounge car. The entire ex
terior is of stainless steel as might be expected from its name, the “SILVER STREAK.”
It is regrettable that arrangements could not be made for stops at every station, but
because of the light weight track on this line the train must proceed with caution and the lim
ited time will not permit stops. However, slow speeds will be maintained through the towns per
mitting the spectators to view its beauty. At O’Neill, it will stand at-the depot for three hours
and will be open to the public for inspection.
