Over the County MEEK AND VICINITY The Ladies Aid met with Mrs. A. L. Borg on Wednesday after noon. Eleven members and eight guests were present. Two new members, Mrs. Dick Robertson and Mrs. Blake Benson, were taken into the Aid. After the business meeting, a delicious lunch was served by the hostess. Lois Hull, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Hull, fell from a horse on the way home from school . on Tuesday and received severe in juries on her head. She was taken to the Lynch hospital at once, and is getting along as well as could be expected. Walt Hudson left this commun ity last week for the Southern states, where he plans to make his home. About one hundred and thirty five people attended the charivarj feed and miscellaneous shower for Mr. and Mrs. Walter Devall at their home on Saturday evening. They received many useful gifts and everyone departed for their homes at a late hour. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Robertson motored to Omaha on Saturday re. turning home Tuesday. Mrs. Charles Griffith left on Sun day for her home at North Platte after spending several weeks here with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Peterson of O’Neill were overnight guests on Saturday at the Harrison and Devall homes. Arthur Rouse has been on the sick list the past week. Milo Jones returned to O’Neill on Monday where he wrill be em ployed with Jim Kelly. EMMET ITEMS Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Fox drove to Ord, Nebraska, Sunday accom panied by Mrs. Myrta Fox, who will spend several weeks visiting relatives there before returning to her home in Miller, Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. John Kee cele brated their 33rd wedding anni versary Sunday. Dinner guests were Aladene Kee an d Wayne Bates. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Beckwith entertained eighteen guests at pinochle Friday evening. Mrs. Ira Livingston and Mr. Harold Givens won high prize. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hershiser and family were dinner guests at the Wm. Storts home Sunday. The South Side Improvement Club met with’Mrs. Bert Gaffney Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Alex McConnell and Mrs. Walter Puck ett were the leaders and a fine les son was enjoyed by all. A delicious lunch was served at the close of the afternoon. Dorothy Fox returned home Sun day afternoon after spending sev eral days at the DeVere Fox home INMAN NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Art Tomlinson went to Norfolk Friday on busi ness. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Conard and children moved to the Roy Gannon farm last week. The J. Meyers family moved into the house va cated by the Conards.. A post nuptial shower was held for Mrs. George Colman, Jr., at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Cole man, Sr., Friday afternoon. A large crowd was present and Mrs. Colman received many lovely gifts. Lunch was served. The children and grandchildren of Mrs. C. D. Keyes gathered at her home last Thursday, bringing well filled baskets for the dinner, the occasion being her 99th birthday. The “Yellow Dogs’’ held their an nual banquet Wednesday evening at the I. 0. O. F. hall. A large crowd was present and a class of new members was initiated into the mysterys of the order. The members of the Rebekah Lodge served the banquet. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brittell and Mr. and Mrs. Fay Brittell visited relatives in Neligh Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Hancock and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Sterns and son of O’Neill were in Inman Sunday afternoon visiting Mrs. Mary Han cock. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Stover and son of Chambers were in Inman Sunday visiting her mother, Mrs. Zitella Kestenholtz and other rela tives. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Butler came from Stuart Wednesday and visited until Sunday at the A. N. Butler home. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Englehaupt and children of Chambers moved in to the Chas. Sholes house here this week. Mr. and Mrs. Fay Brittell and daughter Shirley visited relatives in Newport Sunday. Rev. E. B. Maxey spent several days of last week in Lincoln where he attended a church meeting and visited his son, and at Peru, Nebr., he visited an aunt. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Alexander and daughters Jackie and Judy, of Roy al were here Sunday visiting her mother, Mrs. Julia Riley.
