I enjoy reading it more every year.” Mr. Root was a resident of this county for nearly a quarter of a century, living across the river southeast of this city about five miles. He has been a resident of Iowa for over twenty years, but still has not lost his interest in the old home community and the peo ple of this section. Mr. and Mrs. James Walling, of Pierre, South Dakota, arrived in O’Neill on Sunday, and will make this city their home, Jimmie, hav ing been transferred to the Gamble Store here from Pierre. George Thomasen, who has been employed here in the offices of the Inter-State Power Company, has resigned his position, and will leave Sunday for Omaha, where he has accepted a new position. George B. Wilson, head of the State Department of Banking, and George Huston, also in the Depart ment, both of Omaha, were in O’Neill on Tuesday to attend the funeral of Clarence Campbell. Cronin. The Golden Rod Project Club met at the home of their president, Mrs. Clarence Cunningham on Wednesday afternoon, with nine members present. They studied the correct way of serving a din ner, and then dinner was served. Rev. Francis Markey of Los Ve gas, New Mexico, arrived in O’Neill on Monday to spend a few days here visiting his aunts, Mrs. Margaret McMillian and Miss Mary Markey, and his uncle, John Markey, and other relatives and friends.
