By resolution entered in the min
utes of their proceedings, the Coun
ty Board of Supervisors of the
County of Holt, State of Nebraska,
•directed that public notice be given
stating that said County has here
tofore issued and has at the present
4ime outstanding and unpaid judg
ments and legally issued warrants
»s follows:
Registered Warrants, Principal
•Amount—$33,955.53; Interest to
9-1-39—$1,503.09; Total $35,458.62.
Judgments, Principal Amount—
*31,632.75; Interest to 9-1-39—$1,
€62.92; Total—$33,295.67.
Said registered warrants and judg
ments bear interest at the rate of
six per centum (6%) per annum and
all of said outstanding judgments
and warrants plus accrued inter
est are sought to be taken op and
paid off by means of bonds of the
principal amount of Sixty-seven
Thousand and No 100 Dollars ($67,

You are hereby notified that the
Joint Executors of this said estate
have filed a Report, pursuant to an
order of sale heretofore entered
herein, stating that the best bid
they have been able to obtain for the
estate’s interest in its personal
property and not specifically de
mised was $1,172.90 made by Eddie
Carson.
That said Report will come on
before the Court for hearing on the
14th day of August, A. D., 1939, at
ten o’clock a.m.
Any objections to the sale of said
property to Eddie Carson for the
sum aforesaid should be made at or
before that time.

Emmet Carr made a business trip
to Omaha on Tuesday.
Miss Mary Jardee spent the
week end visiting friends in Grand
Island.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ernst an
nounce the birth of a daughter on
Wednesday, August 2nd.
Mr. and Mrs. Chris Wunderlich
announce the birth of a son on
Thursday, August 3rd.
Edward J. Sessinghaus of Omaha,
was in O’Neill on business Wednes
day of this week.
Mrs. O. F. Rummell left Sunday
for Stromsburg, Nebraska, where
she will visit at the homo of her
father for the next few days.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Crandall
and son, Allen, returned Saturday
from a ten days trip through Yel
lowstone Park.
Miss Genevieve Biglin returned
Saturday from Sioux City, where
she has been working for the past
month.
Miss Dorothy Ryan left Wednes
day for Sioux City, Iowa, where
she will visit friends and relatives
for the coming week.
Lutheran services will be held
at the Episcopal church on next
Wednesday at 8 p.m., conducted by
Rev. Wm. G. Vahle, of Atkinson
Miss Betty Weisman, of Osceola,
Nebraska, arrived Sunday to spend
a week here visiting her sist?r, Miss
Ruby.
Mrs. Ed Jenkinaon returned Mon
day night from Royal, where she
had been visiting relatives and
friends.
Ted Donohue arrived Thursday
morning to spend a few days here
visiting his grandmother, Mrs. Neil
Brennan.
Mrs. George Hendricks, of Bloom
field, spent Thursday in O’Neill
visiting at the home of her daugh
ter, Mrs. Sid Dunkerly.
J. P. Mann left Monday after
noon for Chicago, Illinois, where he
will visit at the home of his daugh
ter, Mrs. Gordon Murray.
Miss Florence Tasler, of Atkin
son, came Wednesday to spend a
few days here visiting her sistei,
Miss Ethel.
Ed Corneleus left Saturday for
Omaha where he will undergo medi
cal treatment at the University hos
pital there. Clyde Keller drove him
to Omaha, returning to O’Neill on

day morning for Chicago, where she
will visit her sister, Miss Mary
Joan and other relatives there.

Dr. and Mrs. J. L. Sherbahn re
turned Sunday from their vaca

Dick, of Omaha, arrived Monday
and are visiting at the home of Mr.

Miss Helen Gladson, of Omaha,
arrived here last week to spend
some time visiting her grandmother

morning for Minneapolis, Minn.,
where she will visit relatives for

Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Miller, of
Lusk, Wyo., who have been visiting

Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Froelich left
Monday afternoon for Chicago,
where Mrs. Froelich will visit for
the next two weeks.

Mrs. Mark Howard left last
Sunday night for New York City,
where she will spend a few weeks
visiting her daughter, Miss Dawn
Howard.
Mrs. Ray Shellhammer and Mrs.
Helen Sirek drove to Elgin on
Tuesday, where they attended the
wedding of Miss lone Bene and Leo
Hooeman.
Mrs. Larry Barrett returned
Monday night from Jackson, Ne
braska, where she has been visit
ing relatives and friends for the
past two weeks.
Jack Arbuthnot and C. E. Wy
ant intend to leave Friday morning
for Omaha where they will visit J.
B. Mellor, who is in St. Joseph’s
hospital there.

visit reatives and friends in New
Jersey and New York for the next

Mrs. D. H. Boren has as her
guest this week her sister, Mrs.
Raul Hoffman and children, Joyce
Elaine and Robert Norman, of Bat
tle Creek.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed T. Campbell
and son, Ed, left Monday morning
for Rochester, Minn., where Mr.
Campbell will undergo an opera
tion at the Mayo Brothers’ Clinic.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Ruzicka
left Wednesday morning on their
vacation and will visit relatives and
friends in South Dakota and Minne
sota.
Paul Montgomery, of Farlington,
Kansas, was in O’Neill on Saturday
visiting friends and relatives on his
way to Casper, Wyo., where he
will join his wife, who left for there
three weeks ago and they will visit
relatives for the next month.
Anton Ruzicka, of Clarkson, Ne
braska, who has been here for the
past week visiting at the home of
his son, Melvin, left Monday for his
home.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schwarte. of
Pine Ridge, S. D., announce the
birth of a daughter on Sunday,
July 30th. Mrs. Schwarte will be
remembered here as Miss Evelyn
Mains.
Mrs. Helen Simar, Mrs. Creola
Carney and Mrs. Lyle Jackson left
Sunday morning for Kansas City,
where they will purchase merchan
dise which they will move into their
new store building.
James Crisp, of Kingslynn, Eng
land, arrived in this country about
July 1st, to visit relatives, has been
in O’Neill the past few bays vis
iting his cousins, Harrison and
Clifford Bridges.
Ernest Schollmeyer, of Crofton,
and Miss Antonia Calkins, of Ew
ing, were granted a marriage li
cense in county court last Mon
day. They were united in holy wed
lock at Ewing on August 1, Rev.
Father P. J. Vanderlein officiating.
Mr. and Mrs. Win. G. Beha are
going to Sioux City Saturday
morning to meet their daughter,
Miss Nan, who is coming home for
a visit of ten days or two weeks.
Miss Nan is now living in Brooklyn,
N. Y.
Mrs. Mike Enright, Mrs. Larry
Coleman and Don Enright drove to
Norfolk on Monday to get Mr. En
right’s daughter, Janet, who has
been visiting at the home of her
grandmother, Mrs. John Dunhaver,
for the past week.
Mrs. R. L. Arbuthnot, Mr. and
Mrs. T. L. Miller and Cron Stan
nard returned Thursday evening
from Omaha where they had been
visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Mellor.
Mr. Mellor is a patient in St. Jos
eph’s hospital there.
Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Herre left
Sunday for Kansas City, where
they will visit their son, Jimmie,
who has been spending the summer
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis
Bishop. Mrs. Bishop and Mrs. Herre
are sisters.
Mrs. Lyle Curtis son and daugh
ter, Billie and Marylin, arrived here

Oak, la., to visit at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Pete Cortis and Miss

ited in Ewing, came up Saturday
and spent until Sunday visiting
here.
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Johnson,
son, Bobby, and daughter, Barbara,
left Sunday afternoon for their
home in Sioux Falls, S. D., after
spending the past two weeks here
visiting at the homes of Mr. and
Mrs. John Protivinsky and Mr. and
Mrs. L. O. Johnson.
Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Luckey and
Mrs. John Voss, a sister of Mrs.
Luckey, of Norman, Okla., and Miss
Harriett Paul, of Oakland, Cal., vis
ited at the William Eisele home the
end of the week. Mrs. George

Lawrence Chapman of New
York City, was in O’Neill today,
visiting friends and transacting
business. He leaves for Omaha
tonight, where he and his wife
plan on visiting friends for a few
weeks before returning to then
home in New York.
Miss Eileen Davidson, of Omaha,
drove up Sunday and spent the day
here visiting at the home of her
parents, Mr and Mrs. James David
son. Miss Davidson is employed
as a stewardess by the Union Paci
fic railroad and is on the Challen
ger, between Omaha and San Fran
cisco.
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Todson and
daughters, Juenelle and Mary Ann
left Tuesday morning for Ogden,
Utah, where they will visit Mrs.
Todson’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.

Miss Madeline Ullom, who has
been here for the past three weeks
visiting her mother, Mrs. M. L.
Ullom, and old time friends in the
city, left this morning for Wash
ington, D. C., where she has made
her home for the past five years.
Miss Ullom went to Washington ip
1934 and put in three years of
training there and for the past two
years has been an employee of the
Army Medical Center.
