A Wisner man was tried before a jury in the county court at West Point, Nebr., last Thursday for driving an automobile while in toxicated. He was convicted and fined $20 and costs and had his driver’s license revoked for one year. The arrest was made by one of the state patrolmen. It is believe that this is the first case in the state in which a defendant, arrested on the charge of drunken driving, was tried to a jury before the county court. Harry Hiscock, who has been a resident of the northeastern part of the county for the past forty five years, was an O’Neill visitor last Friday. Harry had a sale of his personal effects last week and was to leave the middle of this week for Oregon where he expects to make his future home. He has a son who has been in Oregon the past two years and he likes the country fine and Harry determined to try it. He said that if he was not satisfied, however, he would come back to old Holt. Harry’s many friends hope that he will find prosperity and contentment in his new home.
