Italians Captured in Battle of Guadalajara Officers and men, members of one of the crack divisions sent by Mussolini to aid General Franco’s rebel forces, who were taken prisoner by Madrid government troops in the bloody battle for Guadalajara mountain passes. ACADIAN PIONEER Mrs. Mary Desire Verett, one hundred and two, of Baldwin, La., who was born and has lived all her life in her beloved Acadian country or Land of Evangeline in south cen tral Louisiana. Four of her seven children are living. She has 152 grand, great-grand and great-great grandchildren. She has never worn glasses and can still thread a nee ^ die and do a little sewing. Device Makes Mental Diagnoses Miss Veronica Lavigne, nurse at the Worcester, Mass., State hos pital, is shown with the delicate apparatus now being used in making diagnoses of mental cases. The machine, it is said, records changes in the patient’s mental status and shows when improvement is being made. Psychiatrists say that development of the machine may mark the turning point in the fight against dementia praecox. Reno Girl Will Wed Raskob's Son Miss Dolores Horter of Reno, Nev., whose engagement to Robert P. Raskob, son of John J. Raskob, financier and former national Dem ocratic committee chairman, was announced recently. The bride-to be is a native of Reno and a gradu ate of the University of Nevada. Mr. Raskob has been in Reho for a year and a half looking after mining in terests of his father. The marriage will take place in June. Oldest U. S. Grocer Found in Maine Albert A Cole of Portland, Maine, who has been found to be the oldest active grocer in the United States in continuous service. He is eighty-four and tljg record shows he has served 73 years and 8 months in the retail grocery business. The disclosure of Mr. Cole as the patri arch of the trade followed a search carried on since the first of the year ! by the Natioral Association of Retail Grocers.
