Harry HafTner, of Norfolk, was looking after business in this city the first of the week. Bernard McCafferty came down from Casper Wyo., Saturday night for a few days visit with relatives and friends. Mrs. Ralph McElvain entertained the EOT club at her home last Thursday evening with a luncheon and bridge. Mrs. Hans Egger, of Columbus, Nebr., arrived in the city Saturday evening to spend a month here visiting with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Blain came up from Grand Island last Satur day for a weeks visit at the home of their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Todsen. Levi Fuller, jr., Cleta Van Every-, Bessie Fuller and Roy Wayman went to Plankinton, S. D., last Sun day where Mr. Wayman inspected some cattle. They returned home the same day. Henry Beckman drove over to Cedar county last Sunday morning to spend the day with relatives and friends. He came back Monday and said that he had quite a time mak ing it, but finally succeeded. Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Hayne, of Page, spent Sunday here with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Johnson and family. Federal court is being held in Norfolk this week with Judge J. A. Donohoe, of Omaha, presiding. Several criminal cases are on the docket and it is believed that the term will last about two weeks. About thirty traveling men were marooned in the Golden hotel here during the storm and five other gusts from the western part of the state were also quartered at the hotel during the storm. A few of them left late Tuesday afternoon, after the highways were reported open and the others Wednesday morning. Otto Bentzen, of Naper, who represented Boyd county in the last session of the legislature, is a can didate for representative from this district in the first session of the unicameral legislature. There are now three candidates in the field for this position, L. G. Gillesipe, of O’Neill, Frank J.
