The Board of Supervisors of the
County of Holt, State of Nebraska,
met in regular session pursuant to
adjournment at their regular meet
ing place in O’Neill in said County
on the 9th day of October, 1935.
The following Supervisors were
present: Sullivan, Steinhauser,
Stein, Carson, Matousek, Walter
and Reimer. Chairman SuHivan
presided and the County Clerk,
John C. Gallagher, was present and
recorded the proceedings. All of
the Supervisors being present, the
following proceedings were had
and done:
Supervisor Steinhau|ser offered
the following resolution and moved
its adoption:
BE IT RESOLVED by the
Board of County Supervisors of
the County of Holt, state of Ne
braska as follows:
1. This Board hereby finds and
determines: That it is ncessary
to erect a suitable Court House
and Jail for this County, and for
that purpose to borrow the sum
of Sixty-One Thousand Dallors
($61,000.00) and issue the bonds
of the County in said amount to
pay for said Court House and
Jail; that the proceeds of the sale
of said bonds be appropriated for
the building of said Court House
and Jail.
2. A specila election is hereby
culled and shall be held in the
County of Holt, Stute of Nebras
ka, on the 12th day of November,
1935, at which election the follow
ing proposition shall be submitted
to a vote of the people of said
County:
“Shall the County of Holt,
State of Nebraska, issue its bonds
of the principal amount of Sixty
one Thousund Dollars ($31,000.
00) for the purpose of erecting a
suitable Court House and Jail for
said County, Said bonds to be
dated the first day of December,
1935, and become due in not more
than twenty years from their
date and bear interest at not ex
ceeding the rate of Four per
centum (4%) per annum, pay
able on December 1, 1933 and
semiannually thereafter; and
shall a tax be levied annually on
all taxable property in said
County in addition to all other
taxes sufficient in amount to pay
interest on and the principal of
said bonds as and when such in
terest and principal become due?”
3. The polls at said election
shall be opened at 8 o’clock in the
morning and close at 8 o’clock in
the afternoon of said date and
the voting places in the several
precincts of said County shall be
located as designated in the no
tice hereinafter ordered to be
published.
4. Said election shall be con
ducted according to the laws ap
plicable to general elections and
the County Clerk is hereby di
rected to cause ballots to be
printed and to procure the nec
essary poll books and supplies
and furnish the same to the elec
tion boards in the several pre
cincts and he shall also make the
necessary arrangements for vot
ing places for holding said elec
tion.
5. The County Clerk of this
County shall revise the list of
Judges and Clerks of election for
the several precincts and fill all
vacancies therein and shall ap
point and notify the judges and
clerks of election in each precinct
and order them to appear at their
respective polling places and shall
designate one of said appointees
in each precinct whose duty it
shall be to receive from the Clerk
the ballots, poll books and other
equipment for the holding of the
election as provided by law.
6. The Board finds that The
Frontier is a legal newspaper
published in this County. A no
tice in substantially the follow
ing form shall be published for
four weeks in said newspaper:

ial election has been duly called by
the Board of County Supervisors
of said County and will be held in
said County on the 12th day of
November, 1935, at which election

7. At least twenty (20) days
previous to said election the
County Clerk shall cause to be
made out, printed and delivered
to the sheriff of this County three
copies of said notice for each pre
cinct in the County and the sher
iff shall post up a copy of said
notice in three of the most public
places in each precinct in the
County at least ten days before
the time of holding said election.
8. The County Clerk shall also
furnish copies of the question
submitted to the election board in
each precinct, and a copy of the
question shall be posted up at
each place of voting during the
day of election.
9. A copy of the official ballot
to be used at said election shall
be printed in the Chambers Sun,
Page Reporter, Ewing Advocate,
Stuart Advocate, Atkinson
Graphic, The Frontier and Holt
County Independent, seven legal
newspapers published in and of
general circulation in said County.
The foregoing resolution having
been read and considered, the roll
was called on the passage and ad
option of the same and the follow
ing Supervisors voted in favor Of
the passage and adoption of said
resolution: Steinhauser, Stein, Car
son, Reimer, Walter, Matousek and
Sullivan.
The following voted against the
same: None. Thereupon the Chair
man declared the resolution passed
and adopted.

Whereas, Ralph Wr. McElvain

Whereas, said application is in
all respects, in legal and due form
and notice of hearing thereon has
been given according to law by
publication in The Frontier, and
Whereas, no remonstrances are
interposed, and no objections are
on file or made to the granting of
said application and the issuance
of license of an Off and On Sale
Beer License to said applicant,
Therefore, be it resolved by the
Mayor and City Council of O’Neill,
