District Court Filings The Lincoln National Life In surance Company has filed suit in the district court against Fred Lorenz, et al., to foreclose a mort gage for $2,500 given on June 19, 1918, by F. E. Cowden and wife on the southwest quarter of section 28, township 29, north, of Range 12, west of the 0th P. M. They allege in their petition that the mortgage was sold and assigned to them on December 1, 1933. The mortgage had been extended and renewed and on October 17, 1930, the property was transferred by Cowden and wife to Fred Lorenz, he assuming the mortgage indebtedness. They allege that he has failed to pay the taxes for the year 1934 and, also failed to pay the interest note of $250 due and payable on Novem ber 1, 1934. They ask the court to determine the amount due and that if same is not paid within a reasonable time that the land be sold. E. H. Luikart as receiver of the Citizens State Bank of Stuart, has brought suit against Andy Moss, et al., to foreclose a mortgage giv en on June 12, 1930, for $1,500 on the following described real estate: Southwest quarter and the south west quarter of the northwest quarter of section 18, in township 32, north of range 16 west, in Holt county, Nebraska. They allege that the note was due on June 12, 1931, and that same has never been paid,. He asks the court to determine the amount due and then if same is not paid within a reasonable time that POVERTY is a luxury in dulged in by the indolent and shiftless—thrifty people cannot afford it. Hassett has filed suit to foreclose a mortgage given by Lindley Sigmond Hurst on Decem ber 31, 1923, for 84,000 to the Lin coln Safe Deposit company on the following described real estate: south half and east half of the northwest quarter and the west half of the northeast quarter of section 31, and the southwest quarter and the west half of the northwest quarter of section 32, all in township 33 north, of range 14, in Holt county, Nebraska, com prising 720 acres. Plaintiff al leges that he purchased the notes and mortgage prior to June 25, 1932, and that he is now the owner thereof. Lee Hershiser left Monday for Lincoln where he will enter the Veterans hospital for medical treatment. Mi. and Mrs. C. J. Gatz returned last Tuesday evening from Omaha, where they had been visiting rela tives for a week. Most folks are not so particular about the money standard ass they are about getting some money of any old standard. One out of every four persons is on the government rolls, and it looks as though two out of the other three voted to get on. Sister Calixta arrived from Chi cago last Sunday night for a weeks visit at the home of her mother, Mrs. O. F. Biglin, and with other relatives here. The old fashioned woman who used to get a kick out of a game of drop the handkerchief now has a daughter who is captain of the girl’s boxing team. Mrs. Maragaret McMillan left last Saturday night for Miami, Florida, where she will spend six weeks or two months visiting at the home of her sister, Mrs. Fred Caudry, and enjoying the climate of southern Florida.
