N EBRRASKAN A BOARD ENDORSES STATE FLAG
At a recent meeting of the Ne
braskana board of governors it was
decided that the Nebraskana Society
will co-operate with other patriotic
organizations in promoting a general
distribution of Nebraska’s state flag.
The flag was designed by Mrs. B. G.
Miller of Crete, and ha- been formally
recognized by an act of the legislature.
The photograph which appears a
| hove contains the executive officers of
the board of governors, who are, left
to right: County Attorney Robert M.
Baldwin of Hebron, editor; Dr. H.
Adelbert White of the University of
Nebraska, secretary; and Attorney
C. L. Clark of Lincoln, vice chairman.
Congressman .1. N. Norton of Polk,
chairman, was not able to be at the
meeting and does not appear in the
picture.
Mrs. Miller states that the co-opera
tion of the society will aid materially
in carrying on the distribution of
state Hags and will be in keeping with
the purposes of the Nebraskana So
ciety, of which she is a member.
Self-Denial may be disagreeable
now—but Poverty in the future
will be disastrous.

on a recent trip thru the southwestern
states and Mexico and says:
“To all fair minded opponents of
prohibition, I should like to say, ‘Visit
Juarez where all too many working
men waste in saloons and gambling
houses the money that should go to
help their families and improve their
homes, and then decide for yourself
whether America would be helped by
duplicating such conditions in the
United States.’ I was not surprised
to hear one of the most thoughtful
Americans, who made the trip with
me say,‘I believe the tide of wet senti
ment in America is definitely waning,
and that before long even the bitter
est opponents of prohibition will real
ize the hopelessness of their fight
against it.’ ”
