The Parent-Teachers association held their December meeting at the high school auditorium Wednesday morning in order that they could hear talks by Mrs. Golden, a worker under the direction of the National Congress of Parents and Teachers. Benson and son I Robert and daughters Marjorie and I Margaret, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harrison and daughters Helen and Leone, of Norfolk; Mrs. Alice Roberts of O’Neill, and Mr. and Mrs. Blake Benson and family were Thanks giving dinner guests at the S. J. Ben son home. C. L. Benson and son Robert, of Norfolk, and Blake Benson and son Elwin, called at the F. H. Griffith home on Thanksgiving. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Linn called at the Joe Ulerach home on Thanksgiv ing day; he reports that the children are much improved. The R. D. Spindler family were dinner guests at the Frank Griffith home on Thanksgiving day. The program and box social held at the Benson school house on Wed nesday night was well attended; a ';very good program was rendered by the pupils; much credit is due their teacher Miss Ballinger. Miss Dorothy Harrison, who is at-; tending high school at Atkinson, came Wednesday evening to spend Thanks giving with the home folks. Mrs. Dannie Hanson and son Willie spent Wednesday at the Eric Borg home. Guests at the Ralph Young home on Thanksgiving day were Mr and Mrs. Clark Young and sons, Walter and Orton, and Jake Long, all of Op portunity. Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Rouse, Mr. and Mrs.Will Langan and children spent Thanksgiving at the Horace Rouse home. Visitors at the Griffith home on Sunday were A. L. Rouse, O’Neill, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Young and children and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Walters and daughter, Merridy Hubby visited at Bassett over Thanksgiving. Visitors at the Eric Borg home on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rouse and sons; Arthur Rouse; Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Hubby and Merridy I Hubby. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Robertson and : daughters and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Searles and children were Sunday vis itors at the A. L. Borg home. Miss Stahley, teacher of the Meek school, is staying with Mrs. Ralph Young this week. i Mrs. W. F. Kaczor, and son Edward | are ill with the “flu” but are improv , ing at this writing. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Thomas and child iren were over night visitors at th< Clarence Hicks home last Saturday. The dance at the home of C. E. Linn on Saturday evening was quite well attended and a good time is re ported. Ueltn Spindler, of O’Neill, was an over nitfht visitor at the R. D. Spind ler home on Friday. General Wei$hiii{j J. i1. Ryan has installed a new fifteen ton Fair banks Morse scales in his hay and grain office. This is one of the largest truck scales in the state.
