Tracy Gwin suffered a broken jaw last Sunday when he fell upon the cement sidewalk. Bert Hubbard expects to return to his college work in the state univer sity next Tuesday. A daughter was born Wednesday to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Whaley residing northeast of O’Neill. Mrs. Lorena McManus went to Chadron last Saturday, where she will attend school the coming year. Dr. Spencer and wife, of Mankato, Kansas, were visiting at the home of Dr. and Mrs. L. A. Carter the first of the week. Mrs. Pete Hereford sustained a severe injury the first of the week when a knife she was using entered the palm of her hand. Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Mrs. Dierks will be remembered here as Antenette Mullen. , The little five year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle McKim, fell from a windmill tour Wednesday evening and suffered a fractured right arm. I)r. Finley reduced the fracture. The little son of Mr. and Mrs. George Urlaub cut the thumb of his left hand quite severely Tuesday while playing with a razor. Ulbrich left Wednesday morning for Los Angeles, California, where they will make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Ulbrich have been visiting at the home of the latter’s parents, Attorney and Mrs. L. C. Chapman for the past week. The rain of last Tuesday evening amounted to .02 of an inch, and was general over this part of the state; some localities received more than this amount but all parts of the county re port a good soaking rain. A heavy wind accompanied the storm. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Rodenwold, of Corvallis, Oregon, are visiting his mother, Mrs. Anna Hughes. Mr. Rodenwold, who is an instructor in the school at Corvallis, has a year’s leavisqf absence and has just returned from a visit at Des Moines, Iowa. Chas. Reka and Wm. Shaughnessy returned home Wednesday from a week’s trip to Rosette, Wyoming, where Mr. Reka was looking after his land. Mrs. Worth will be remembered as Ina Karr. The Ladies Aid met with Mrs. Dan Hansen on Wednesday afternoon. Quite a large crowd attended and Mrs. Hansen served a delicious lunch. Eric Borg had the misfortune to lose a good milk cow last week from bloat. Four other cows became bloat ed, but were doctored soon enough to save the rest of them. Miss Kathryn Taylor came from Bristow Saturday evening for a few days’ visit at the Eric Borg home and with other relatives and friends.
