Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Pilger and children returned home last Satur day evening from a few months auto trip to California and points in the west. Misses Loretto and Eileen Enright will accompany their aunt, Mrs. Loui Strom to Omaha on Friday to spend the week-end. Mrs. Ira H. Moss entertained the Martez Club at her home Wednes day evening. Mrs. P. B. Harty won the honors at bridge. H. B. Hubbard drove to Lincoln Wednesday morning. He was ac companied by his son, Burt, who is attending the University. Mrs. C. E. Stout and daughter, Mrs. H. J. Birmingham went to Omaha last week for a visit with their daughter and sister, Mrs. W. J. Froelich. Miss Geraldine Cronin came up from Omaha last week and has been spending the Easter vacation at the home of her sister, Mrs. P. B. Harty. Mr. and Mrs. Burl Martin, of Kan sas City, Missouri, and Mrs. George M. Henry, of Lewistown, Montana, drove up from Omaha Thursday afternoon. D. Henry, of this city, won first honor in the grade oral spelling contest held in this city Fri day evening. Miss Helen Toy won second honors in both oral and writ ten. Miss Elizabeth received a gold medal and Miss Helen received a silver medal. Carter returned home Tuesday morning from Chicago where he and Mrs. Carter were called the previous Tuesday by the serious ill ness of their daughter, Mrs. Joe Smith, who had been takfcn to a hospital suffering with pneumonia, Mrs. Smith’s condition has materi ally improved and she is apparently on the w'ay to recovery. Mrs. Car ter remained with her daughter and will accompany her to O’Neill as soon as she is able to travel. Dr.| Carter brought the Smith children, J. C., Bobby and Miss Jean, home with, him. Mr. and Mrs. Loui Strom, who have been spending the winter in Califor nia, spent Easter at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Enright. Mr. and Mrs. Storm drove from the Black Hills in December to the coast, fol lowing the Old Spanish Trail through the south to avoid bad roads.
