i Miss Lofena Coppoc entertained a
1 number of friends at her home Satur
day afternoon, February 11, in honor:
of her mother’s ninety-first birthday
(anniversary. A dainty luncheon was
served. Grandma Coppoc has been in
feeble condition for some time due to
1 her advanced age. If tender care can
prolong her life she will live to enjoy
more birthdays.
i A Bible drama “The Rock" will be
presented at the Chambers town hall
(Sunday evening, February 26, under
’ the auspices of the Methodist church.
“The Rock” is a deeply religious play
picturing the life of the apostle Peter
iand its presentation will be entirely
in keeping with the spirit of the Sab
bath. Beautiful costumes have been i
rented for the occasion. No admis
sion charge will be made. A free will
offering will be taken. Curtain rises
at 8 o’clock.
A large crowd attened the public
j sale held at the D. B. Perkin’s ranch
Friday, February 10th. Mr. and Mrs.
Perkins have rented their place to Mr.;
and Mrs. Veder Headman. After an
extended pleasure and sightseeing trip
jin different parts of the United States
they will make plans for their future
'residence. Their many friends are
| hoping that they will decide to locate
at Chambers.
Despite the had weather a fair sized
crowd attended the Cook-Ilanna public
sale Monday, February 13th at the
Ezra Cook ranch northeast of Cham
bers. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Hanna, who
have been running the ranch the past
year will move to O’Neill March 1st
where Mr. Hanna will run a filling
station. While we regret loosing these
young people our best wishes will
follow them to their new home.
The Presbyterian Ladies Aid will
meet with Mrs. Rudat this week,
Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Tibbitt lefi
for Omaha Thursday and returned
home Saturday with a new “Sport i

Mrs. Edward Adams, who has been
a patient at the Green Gables Sanitor
ium, at Lincoln, Nebraska, the past
month, returned home the first of this
week much improved in health. Her
daughter, Miss Jennie, who is a train
ed nurse, has been with her mother
. during hre illness. Miss Jennie accom

Grandma Cavanaugh, of O’Neill, is
visiting her daughter, Mrs. Earl Hat

Mrs. H. M. Lee spent Thursday of
last week at O’Neill visiting her par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Carter.
Clarence Tibbett and Chester Fees

day to attend a shooting match held
at that place.
