A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Reis, residing seven miles north, on last Tuesday. Mrs. L. C. Chapman and Miss Ida Chapman drove down to Omaha Fri day, returning Sunday. The members of the Presbyterian Sunday school enjoyed a picnic at the pountry club Wednesday afternoon. Miss Opal Ashley expects to leave Saturday morning for Omaha where she will visit friends for a couple of sveeks. He was repairing he chain on a bindqr when the horses jacked and the large wheel passed jver his body causing a fractured rib ind badly bruising his arms and >ody. While playing ball at the fair 'rounds July 4th, T. H. Newhouse was hit on the finger with a ball caus ng a flesh wound and dislocating the inger at the first joint. Miss Meta Seid, of Council Bluffs, s visiting her sister, Mrs. V. Sageser, >f Amelia. Lawrence Jones Was one of the victims of a 4th of July accident. He 'ell while running in one of the races »nd bruised both knees. Ralph Butler, of Ewing, had the Misfortune to have his car turn, Gyer vhile on his way from Ewing to De bit July 4th. Mr. Butler sustained jruises about the back and shoulders. The family of C. C. Jones, living northeast of Chambers, were all confined to their home, last week, with an attack of Flu. Mr. Jones developed Bronch Pneumonia, but at present is well on the road to re covery. Mr. and Mrs. J, W. Walter are the proud parents of a pair of twin boys, born July 7th, weight 5(6 and 7 pounds. Mother and babies doing nicely. Miss Nellie Harris, of Emmet, is visiting her sister, Mrs. Harry Ressel. The 4th of July celebration was one of the most enjoyable events ever held at Chambers. Early in the morn ing the crowd began gathering. There was something doing all day The attractions were all free. Cham bers was defeated by the Ballagh Swan Lake team in the base ball game. The sports were greatly eit joyed as were also the fire works after the free movie in the evening. A quiet wedding was solemnized July 7th, at the home of the bride’s parents at Carrol, Nebraska, when Miss Marian Garwood was united in marriage to Clarence Richard, of Chambers. Clarence is the only son of Mr. nnd Mrs. Walter Richard and a young man who has a host of friends. He was professor of the public school at Magnet the past year and will again fill that position the coming year. Miss Garwood is un known to the people at Chambers, but we are so sure of Clarence’s good judgment that we know she must be fine. A wedding breakfast was serv ed at the home of the bride’s parentr. and the happy couple left for a wed ding trip to Boulder, Colorado. They will be at home at Magnet, Nebraska, after September 1st.
