The Woman’s Christian Temperance Union meets Tuesday afternoon, Aug ust 7th, at 2:30 o’clock, with Mrs. Mae Martin. The business for the afternoon will be the year report of treasurer, recording secretary, and superintend ents of departments, also report of regional conference. The ladies aid meet with Mrs. Frank Griffith on July 11th of which there were twenty-six (present $1.95 taken in for lunch and $2.£5 for goods sold. We will meet on July 25th with Mrs. Geo. Hansen, Jr. Everybody wel come. We have children’s light and dark aprons, and aprons for women; also some lovely pillow cases and dresser scarfs for sale. The ladies aid will give an ice cream social. When? On August 4th. Where? At Marquette of course, the usual place for good times. Where the old and young gather. Everybody welcome. Everybody come. Ladies aid met with Mrs. George Hansen Jr., on, July 25th of which there were thirty-two present. $2.45 for lunch and $4.25 for goods sold. Aid meets with Mrs. Dude Harrison on August 8th. We have Sunday school at 2:00 and preaching by Rev. Nye at 3:00. Everybody welcome. A very iflce crowd was out to Sun day school and church Sunday. Rev. Nye gave us a very interesting ser mon on “Good and Bad In Most of Us.” A very nice time was had by all at Meek last Saturday night. The pro ceeds from the ice cream and pop was $30.00 clear. Come out once and be with us and you won’t miss the next time. PLEASANT VALLEY. Charlie Kohler shelled corn last Thursday. Stanley Soukup has been on the sick list the last week. Jay Lush and Charley Grass hauled hogs to Page last Thursday. Mrs. Mabel Hayne and daughter, Vivian, spent Sunday at Venus. Joe McKingstrey is assisting Tom Roach with his haying this week. Miss Mary Lush visited Tuesday afternoon with Miss Constance Grass. Claude Hamilton, Joe McKingstrey and Edward Grass spent Sunday in O’Neill. Orville Van Conett and family spent Sunday at the Elmer Van Co nett home. Miss Constance and Miss Lura Grass spent last Sunday with Miss Mabel Clacey. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Streeter, Mr. and Mrs. Stanely Soukup spent Sun day in O’Neill. Mr. and Mrs. George Fink returned Saturday evening from their trip t® the Black Hills. Mrs. Clyde Streeter and daughter, Elaine, spent the week end with re latives in O’Neill. Mr. and Mrs. Harley Kennedy auto ed to Neligh last Saturday and re mained over Sunday. He drove his Ford from Anthon, Iowa, and intends to spend a few weeks with friends and relatives in and around Pleasant Val ley.
