To the Honorable Board of Supervi sors of Holt County, Nebraska: The undersigned, who are electors of Holt County, Nebraska, and who re side within five miles of the road hereinafter proposed, and petitioned to be established, ask that a public road commencing at the southeast corner of the Southwest Quarter of Section Thiry-three (33) in Township Thirty three (33) North Range Fourteen (14) West of the Sixth Principal Meridian in Holt County, Nebraska, thence run ning due north on the half section line for a distance of two miles through sections Thirty-three (33) and Twen ty-eight (28) respectively in the town ship and range aforesaid, to the Northeast Corner of N. W„ M of Sec tion Twenty-eight (28), thence west on the Section line between the South west Quarter of Section Twenty-one (21) and the Northwest Quarter of Section Twenty-eight (28), a distance of about one hundred twenty (120) rods, thence in a northwesterly direc tion a distance of about Ninety (90) Rods to a point on the Section line running North and south between Sec tions Twenty (20) anil/ Twenty-one (21), thence in a Northerly and north easterly direction to the County brid ge across the Big Sandy, thence across said bridge and thence in a northerly and northwesterly and northeasterly direction, all as the road is now travel ed from the last mentioned point, to a point on the section line bounding Sec tion Twenty on the east and south of the northeast corner of said Section Twenty, thence north to the North east corner of Section twenty, and thence noilh on the Section lines a distance of two miles, between Sec tions Sixteen and Seventeen, and Sec tions Eight and Nine, to a point of termination where said section line in tersects the section line running east and west between Sections Five and Eight, and Sections Four and Nine, be established. You are hereby notified that you have this day been appointed a Com missioner to view and report upon the expediency of establishing a public road petitioned for by B. E. Strang and Harry Johnson and others, and de I scribed as follows, to-wit: Commencing at the southeast cor ner of the S. W. % of Sec. 33, Twp. 33 R. 14 West, thence due North on the Vt Sec. line two miles, through Sections 33 and 28 to th* N. E. corner of the N. W. !4 of Sec. 28, thence west on the section line between the S. W. !4 of Sec. 21 and the N. W. % of Sec. 21 and the N. W. of Sec tion 28, a distance of about 120 rods. Thence northwesterly about 90 rods to a point on the section line running north and south between Sections 20 and 21, thence northerly and north westerly to the county bridge across the Big Sandy, across said bridge and in a northerly and northwesterly di rection, all as the road is now traveled from last mentioned point to a 'point on the section line bounding Section 20 on the east and south of the north east corner of Section 20, thence north to the northeast corner of Section 20 and thence north on the Section line a distance of two miles between Sec tions 16 and 17, and Sections 8 and 9, to a point of termination where said section line intersects the section line running east and west between Sec tions 5 and 8 and Sections 4 and 9. You will therefore proceed to the examination of the route above de- i scribed, and if, in your opinion, the Public Good requires it, you will call to your assistance the necessary aid and proceed to lay out, mark and plat the same according to law, and report to the County Clerk of said County, not later than twenty days from this nate. Pock, Dr. Damages in case of establishing road in 33-14 petitioned for by B. E. Strang and others. Wire and posts for fence between Sections 9-10-33-14 this fence is one half mile long. Also cattle chute in ^.ilace by the county, $119.00. The State of Nebraska, Holt County, SS. V. S. Pock first being duly sworn, deposes and saith that he is the above named claimant, that the several items mentioned in the foregoing account are just and true; that the goods or ser vices were furnished as herein charg ed, and that the amount claimed is due and unpaid after allowing all just credits. * V. To the County Board of Holt County: Gentlemen: In the matter of the road petitioned for by B. E. Strang and others, if the road is granted as petitioned for, I will have to ask damages for the portion which goes: on the Section line between Section 8! and 9-33-14. But if the Board should see fit to change the road as follows: from southwest corner Section 9-33-14 thence east 1 jnile to southeast corner of said section, thence due north 1 mile, I will donate the right of way where said road crosses my land and ask no damages. Rumsey as follows: To damages for establishment of over and across and along the North west Quarter and the North-half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 9, Township 33, Range 14, in Holt County, Nebraska. Said damages are for lands, build ings and maintaining fences construct ing run-way and bridge so that cattle and stock can get from one portion of the ranch to another and other dam ages by reason of establishing a road across said land. Said damages and all amount to the sum of Seven Hun dred ($700.00) Dollars and Holt County is thus indebted to this claim ant Ocie A. Rumsey in the sum of $700.00 on part of which has been paid.
