Poor demand ex cept for best grades. Prices at New Pork declined $2 during week which made it posible to work some expori business to Cuba. Off grade and weather damaged hay selling at heavy discounts at Chicago. Alfalfa move ment light with demand very limited. Quoted September 19—No. 1 Timothy New York $26.50, Pittsburg $21, Cin cinnati $19.25, Chicago $24, Minneap olis $19, St. Louis $24. Atlanta $27, Prairie, Kansas City $10.10, Omaha ha $16, Kansas City $18. No. 1 Prairie, Kansas City $10.50, Omah $12, St. Louis $16, Minneapolis $15.50. Live Stock and Meats—Chicago hog prices the past week ranged from 10c higher on some packing hogs to 50c lower on some off the lighter weights. Better grades of beef steers and butcher heifers advanced 10c-25c. Lower grade^atock was weak to 15c lower. Butcher cows and feeding steers unchanged. Both fat and feed ing lambs and fat ewes practically unchanged. Yearlings steady to 25c higher. September 19 Chicago prices: Hogs, top, $8.75; bulk of sales $6.85 $8.60; medium and good beef steers $6.10-$10; butcher cows and heifters $3.50-$9; feeder steers $5-$7.25; light and medium weight veal calves $8.50 $13.50; fat lambs $8-$10.10. feeding $7.75; fat ewes $3-$5. Stocker and feeder shipments from 11 important markets during the week ending Sept. 9 were: Cattle and calves 55,422; hogs 3,297; sheep 123, 042. with the exception ox veal, eastern wholesale fresh meat prices ranged from steady to slightly higher, Beef unchanged. Lamb ranged from steady at some markets • to as much as $3 higher at others. Mutton and pork loins steady to $1 higher. Veal de clined $l-$4 per 100 pounds. Sept. 19 prices good grade meats: Beef $14 $17; veal $18-$22; lamb $20-$22; mut ton $10-$15; light pork loins $25-$30; heavy loins $15-$1. Dairy Products—Butter markets advanced rapidly early in the week, but are steady at the close with prices lc-2c higher than a week aog. Short age of fancy butter caused firmer, but use of storage butter and reports of Danish shipments on way withdrew considerable confidence.
