O'NEIL L *CHAMn.BjRjEi GAME 0 Neill and Chambers split a double-header at the high school gym nasium Saturday night, when the O’Neill boys won from Chambers to the tune of 23-8, and the O’Neill girls suffered a defeat by the score of 26-22. In the girls’ game, the first half was a walkaway for Chambers, for the O’NeilL athletes did not get into action until the second half. Here they over came the lead and the second half ended with the score tied. In the play-off Chambers succeeded in caging the ball three times, while O’Neill’s best effort was one basket, the Cham bers’ girls being victorious. Florence Gunn was the outstanding star, mak ing almost every point credited to the O’Neill team. The ONeill boys quietly got away to an early start and never were headed. They displayed a flashy brand of team-work, and the outcome of the game was not in doubt from the start. Joe Beha, O’Neill’s rangy center, scored most of O’Neill’s points and was easily the shining light of the contests. This week, the Ewing cagers invide O’Neill for a return contest on Fri day night. The local athletes are out for revenge for the defeat two weeks ago, and the game promises to be a hot one.
