Jerome O’Connell returned Satur day night from a month’s visit with friends and relatives at Chicago and other Illinois points. Fora Levern Knight, of Walnut, and Miss Ethyl Elizabeth Martin, of O’Neill, were granted a marriage license last Saturday. Leslie Waldo Caster and Carrie Emma Pruss, both of O’Neill, ob tained license to wed from County Judge Malone yesterday. Edward Colligan, former lessee of the K. C. hall and opera house, has purchased the grocery store of Bentley & Wise, one of the oldest businesses in the city, and took charge Monday. P. J. O’Donnell has purchased from the W. J. O’Connor heirs the old O’Connor home in this city, situated on the corner of Third and Everet streets. The deed was filed with the county clerk Tuesday. Bad roads prevented the expected attendance at the meeting last Satur day to perfect organization for the erection of a farmers’ co-operative ele vator, but several thousand dollars was quickly subscribed by those present.
