8. We are proud of the ability and
the economy shown in the administra
tion of our county officials and pledge
the taxpayers of the county a con
tinuation of the same. During the
past two years, every crime has been
prosecuted, the business in the various
offices has been efficiently and econo
micall carried on, .and all visitors as
well as those having business to trans
act have been treated uniformly cour
teous and received efficient service.
9. We appreciate the indefatig
able work, the noble sacrifices and
splendid patriotism of the women of
Americas as shown and exhibited in
this wai*, and we believe that they are
entitled to equal suffrage with men.
We therefore pledge our Legislative
candidates to vote for the proposed
Constitutional Amendment giving to
women the right to cast their ballots
at the polls.
10. We believe that the resources
of the nation should be subserved in
every possible way during the present
war, and that all waste and un
necessary consumption of every kind
and nature be eliminated and aban
doned. To that we favor National
Prohibition and pledge our Legisla
tive candidates to the ratification of
the Prohibitory Constitutional Amend
ment.
11. We unequivocally affirm our
confidence and support in our soldiers
and sailors. We appreciate that it is
beyond the ability of man to express
in suitable words the debt that not
only the American people but the
civilized world owe to those lads that
left home, field, office and factory, and
sailed under the protecting folds of
Old Glory to a strange land and a
strange people to wage the battle of
democracy in Europe. Our hopes and
our prayers are with them: and we
trust that ere long they will safely
return and be received into the arms
of the most grateful people that ever
welcomed the return of their heroes.”
With this report was filed the
minority report of Mr. Golden as fol
lows:
“I fully endorse and approve all of
the resolutions of 4he majority of the
resolutions committee excepting para
graphs nine and ten and feel, that
however our sentiment may be, the
matter of prohibition and" woman suf
frage should not be made tenents of
| the Democratic party, but should be
settled by direct and majority vote of
the people.”
Moved by Scott and seconded by N.
S. Butler that the resolutions adopted
by the majority of the resolutions
committee be adopted. Carried.

A WOMAN’S BACK.
The Advice of This O’Neill Woman
is of Certain Value.
Many a woman’s back has many
aches and pains.
Ofttimes ’tis the kidneys’ fault.
That’s why Doan’s Kidney Pills are
so effective.
Many O’Neill women know this.
Read what one has to say about it:
Mrs. A. J. Mohr, says: “I had weak
kidneys for years and gradually be
came worse until I was completely
discouraged. For fifteen years I suf
fered from pain in my back and sides.
I was restless at night and every day
it seemed impossible to go through
my day’s work, for as soon as I lifted
the least thing or when I got up from
a chair, a pain caught me in my back.
I happened to read of a case of a
person who had been helped wonder
fully by Doan’s Kidney Pills, so I sent
for some to Gilligan & Stout’s Drug
Store. I had taken but a few when I
began to feel better. I kept on using
them and I gained rapidly in health
ancj, strength until I was free from
the trouble. It has been ovei- » vear
now since I have had any need of
Doan’s.”
