Card #f Thank*, Owing to the fact that the kind nesses shown and the sympathies ex tended to us in our recent sad bereave ment, it is quite impossible to thank each one personally and therefore we take this means to express our heart felt gratitude to our friends and neighbors, in fact all the people of O’Neill, for the sympathetic words expressed and kind acts performed to soften and allay our great grief. Telephone Men at Home Are Doing the Work of Those Doing to Until employees are trained to take the places of those who have Joined the colors, those telephone workers who are remaining t at home must shoulder the load. The thousands of skilled telephone work i ers who have gone into the army cannot be readily replaced. One man in every atx from our telephone maintenance and construction forees is now \ in some branch of the military service. Between the various training camps, mil itary and supply depots scattered all over j the country, the number of telephone calls has been steadily Increasing. Private business, accelerated by the war, has required constantly increasing amounts of additional telephone equipment and service. There is also an astonishing demand for telephone equipment for the training camps here and for the armies in Europe, and the cost of telephone equipment and materials is now double what it was three years ago. These extraordinary demands for tele phone service and equipment for govern ment and private needs have come upon the Bell Telephone companies when they are short more than 6,800 trained men who have gone into the army. In spite of the war and what It has meant to this company in the Increased number of telephone messages to handle, the enlistment of so many of our trained men, the shortage of equipment, the scarcity ) of labor and the high cost of telephone materials— In spite of all these obstacles, we are meeting the needs jjf_ the publio for telephone service in a remarkably successful way. NEBRASKA TELEPHONE GOMPANY Believing Or Knowing In the public press, over our signature, we tell you that the asbestos lining of ranges sweats every time a fire is built. We tell you that this sweat causes a range to rust out from the inside. We tell you that plating the fire lining with copper or aluminum or enamel can do no possible good, because on the wrong side of the asbestos. We tell you that a sheet of pure copper on the cold side of the asbestos between the asbestos and range body is the only way to pre vent internal rust in ranges. LET US PROVE IT % ... ... ™ ■ "" Come and See the Asbestos Sweat. See the sweat standing on the iron body. Roll this moisture up in beads with your finger. See the same piece of asbestos sweat again as soon as it cools, in 30 minutes or less time. You will also see the sheet of copper between the asbestos and range body. You will see the dry air space next to the range body. You will see how internal rust is entirely overcome by placing a sheet of pure copper between the asbestos and range body. You will see why Copper-Clad Ranges are so named. You will see a range that wipes clean like a dish; a range that is as free of hinges, catches and latches, as an automobile body. You will see an ebony body framed in nickel, with not a rivet head or screw head or bolt head to mar its silvery surface. Warner CEi Sons
