Ye scribe saw an item of news in a recent issue of Nebraska’s most popular farm paper that looked pretty good to him. It was to the effect that an eastern town conceived the idea of buying up a large lot of envelopes at wholesale, advertise this town on the backs of them and selling them out to their patrons at cost, plus the cost of transportation and printers bill. Now why woulden’t such a proposition be good for O’Neill? Even business men would find it profitable to advertise that way, since they would get a large amount of advertising free, and their patrons would circulate them for them. Besides more people would read their ads than they do now. Pretty good scheme, eh? What? The Mexican situation seems to be acute now, but trust Uncle Sams boys to straighten it out, and since it has to be done, it is just as well that it should be done now as any time. Ye scribe was busy putting fertilizer on the poor spots in the corn field last week. We hope to see some improvement on those spots this year. It is getting pretty close to work time now, still farms for rent are in great demand.. “Brighten the corner where You Are” will soon be the most popular sacred song here. Killed at Beaumont Texas.
