    CIRCLE TOURS OF
THE PACIFIC COAST
In planning “The Perfect Coast Tour” or the “See
America Tour,” Scenic Colorado is of first importance.
No coast tourist could afford to say that he had not in
cluded “Scenic Colorado” either one way or the other in
this world’s greatest journey. Go one way via Seattle,
Portland, and during the season visit either Glacier or
Yellowstone National Park. Link together these scenic
routes with the Ocean Coast voyage between San Fran
cisco and Portland.
Through the season, various publications, special
foldiers and the like will be available, descriptive of the
Burlington circuit rates and through service routes.

To the Housewife.
Madam, if your husband is like most
men he expects you to look after the
health of yourself and children. Coughs
and colds are the most common of the
minor ailments and are most likely to
lead to serious diseases. A child is
much more likely to contract dipthe
ria or scarlet fever when it has a cold.
If you will inquire into the merits of
the various remedies that are recom
mended for coughs and colds, you will
find that Chamberlain’s Cough Rem
edy stands high in the estimation of
people who use it. It is prompt and
effectual, pleasant and safe to take,
which are qualities to be desired when
a medicine is intended for children.
For sale by all dealers. 38-4

their action and the results have been
satisfactory. I value them highly.”

Mexican Troubles Cut Twine Supply.
Norfolk News: Washington, March
19.—How seriously American wheat
and other grain crops would have been
effected had Gen. Carranza carried out
his threat to close the port of Progress
so, on the east coast of Mexico, is in
dicated by the department of agri
culture’s statement today.
The United States imports from
Yucatan through the port of Progres
so practically all of its seisal fibre
used in making binder twine for har
vestering wheat, etc., amounting in
nominal years to 200,000,000 pounds.
Had that port been closed, the supply
of twine would have been cut off.
Already disturbances in Mexico
have resulted in a shortage of fibre in
this country. Between Jan. 1 and
Feb. 28, only 67,489 bales of 350
pounds each were imported, compared
with 156,659 in the same period last
year.
The demand for twine, the depart
ment says, is certain to be greatei
than ever before if estimates for the
biggest wheat crop ever produced are
borne out. The cutting off of further
supplies of twine would have result
ed in the loss of a very large portion
of the wheat crop.
Give Enough Virus.
When vaccinating pigs by the
simultaneous method it is important
to give not only enough serum but
enough virus. Where the dose of
serum has been too small pigs may
show symptoms of cholera in from 10
to 15 days. When too small a dose is
given, some of the pigs will not have
a permanent immunity, especially if
from immune sows. As such pigs
have usually inherited some measure
of protection, it is better to double
rather than pinch the prescribed dose
of virus. It is not necessary that a
pig show any effects of vaccination or
to have even a rise in temperature in
order to become permanently immune.

it. I find that they are pleased with it
and call for it when again in need of
such a medicine,” writes J. W. Sexson.
